Too bad people like him will never be elected, because the population is so one-sided now, you have to be full on republican or democrat. No republican who says abortion is acceptable sometimes, or gay marriage, but wants to cut taxes and spending by a massive 50% will even get elected. I think people care more about those type of social issues than anything these days, they should be far less important imho.

I would prefer Ron Paul, but Rand is a better option in my mind than most. And I like that he's more or less just playing the game - running under the republican ticket despite not really being a republican.

LOL, One thing that will definitely make Hillary win, is that the republicans tend to not have a filter on womens issues. And everytime they say something remotely sexist, Hillary gets another 100,000 moderates to vote for her. It will come down to the republicans ability to dodge any woman issue statements. which seems to be nearly impossible.

But I thought women were only worth 1/3 vote or whatever, so we can afford to piss some off right? Or is it 1/5?

Well if im allowed to vote this time I plan to vote for rand paul.

Last time when I wanted to write in Ron paul. They said I couldnt and only gave two options for voting republican or democratic.

Its discusting actually that I cant even cross party vote in elections. Regardless of what's its for.
Im a none partisan and would prefer to choose the candidate best suited for each specific job.

But here in south carolina you have to vote for a party, and then it gives you only the options for people in that party. (I honestly cant remember it being like that in any other state I lived in, but I didnt pay much attention to politics when I was younger)

Looks like we have a Republican Presidential debate this week, should be interesting for sure.

And what happened to the scheduled Democratic debates, I heard they got canceled??? I could be wrong on that though.

Or maybe I'm not,...
Republican scheduled all the way through to March 2016

Democratic schedule empty

There's a rumor that there's no hurry on democratic debates to keep the focus on Clinton and off the other candidates. Not sure if there's any truth to it, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.

Trump is a terrible candidate. His corporations have filed for bankrupcy twice.... hes a businessman not a politician. The way he approaches issues real is like a little child. Seeing him in first place, makes me have no faith in the GOP as a whole and I voted for Bush twice... Ron Paul last election.

I agree, he is kind of child like in many aspects, especially his stupid twitter rants, but despite his businesses filing for bankruptcy, I still feel he is more qualified than any politician to make the US financially sound again.

Or we could go the Obama route and just keep printing money...

Edit: also, LOL at that pic haha.

So what? What kind of business has Obama, Clinton or any other politician ever ran, successfully or not? All they know how to do is take money from businesses, employee/income earners and donors.

Do you guys/gals not understand how government gets its money? It either taxes business profits and employee earnings or it prints it own making everybody's dollars worth less. So we need a thriving economy where everybody pulls their weight and pays into the system (businesses and employees) instead of having what we have now which is less tax revenue from less successful businesses and employees while paying out enormous amounts of entitlements to people who won't work.

Are we talking about Trump or Obama here? Obama is the one who has little fits when things don't go his way.

Re: 2016 Presidential election

Everyone bashes Trump for filing bankruptcy, i find this quite funny considering he holds a net worth of 4 billion. Anyone that has this much wealth will tell you that you will fail at least once, but he managed to come away from that with dealings through the bond holders and banks he worked with. I would agree with anyone that he is a very questionable candidate, but he is no idiot.

Also look at Obama, he was a politician and he has not shown to be very well at being president IMO.

At the end of the day, it's just a bunch of puppets with money.

Trump is kinda interesting, and might be a good candidate since he's a social lib but a fiscal conservative, exactly what my wife predicts needs to happen for the Republican Party to win. Myself, I'd prefer a true conservative, but Trump would work.

Re: 2016 Presidential election

In the debate tonight, we learned that Trump supported a single payer health care system 10 years ago since it's worked for Canada and others. Holy liberal! Now that he's branded himself as a Republican, all he has is an ambiguous plan for replacing Obamacare. Show me a real plan.

Re: 2016 Presidential election

Fox News went after Trump hard, right out of the gate.

Anybody else notice that at the beginning when they were all standing as a group on stage? The camera angle was centered on Jeb with everybody else off to the side making him look like the front runner.

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnnnext/dam...-super-169.jpg

And what's with Fox trying to bring Trump into a "war on women" bullshit?

Re: 2016 Presidential election

Obama has raised the national debt by 71% since taking office so far

Bankruptcy or not trump cant be any worse then obama in that matter.

I for one look forward to him as president over any politician out there other the rand paul.

But ive simply had enough of politicians altogether. And like viscious said. .im sick of our government giving my hard earned money to those that wont work. Or expect a free ride.
