Been awhile since this has been updated, copied from evomn.net :)
MAP decided to make two pump gas package deals available for GTR owners, 600 (crank hp) for sub 2011 GTR's and a 700 (crank hp) for the 2012+ GTR's. They used mine for the 600 package and a 2014 for the 700 package. MAP had Sean Ivey slated right away to come out but he couldnt tune outside of this shop. Then they didnt think they could get Jon Drenas to come but low and behold Jon, a former Cobb tuner flew in from CA to tune them. The package for mine consisted of a full MAP exhaust (downpipes, mid pipe, cat back), HKS drop in filters and a Cobb Accessport V3. Baseline for my car was 380/400. Mine made out like a psycho throwing down 580/610 on pump gas before we dialed it way back to 575/565 (That tune will be in the Accessports offered in the packages). They thought mine would only make about 525whp ;). The 2014 made 593/593, he also had MAP intakes and intercoolers done in his package, so I like to think mine held its own. Then while Jon was there I got the bright idea to throw some E85 at it haha so I ordered some ID1000s injectors and DW65C fuel pumps. Also did MAP intakes at that time so I could let the car breathe. I did a pump gas tune with the bigger injectors and fuel pumps, that ended up being 580/580. After taking car home for a weekend on this tune I almost shit myself, fastest car I've ever been without a doubt. Granted I havent been in many "fast" cars either haha The E85 tune was a little less then we thought mainly because I have smaller turbo inlets on my 2010 but it still made 620/615. Definitely thought we would break 650, oh well. The car is plenty the way it sits now, I also had a mild tune of 590/575 made for E85. Bigger inlets and intercoolers/piping/bovs would certainly help make more power but I'm good now. Its a riot driving it around town or backroads, no traction in 1st with these tires and almost violent in 2nd gear. All in all I just want to keep it in one piece, the only thing I have planned for rest of season is maybe a built trans. Huge thank you to [MENTION=94]maperformance[/MENTION] for offering me with this deal and to Jon, awesome at what he does and one funny fucker too. Side note, new Rivals 285/35/20 are on there way as of today, my Pontenzas on here have seen better days haha. Very impressive! The package results look great, and beautiful pipework, especially considering the prices (Y-pipe, catback, and intakes). I see you're using K&N filters, but MAP's intake kit includes Green filters (according to the website). Why the change? I'd personally like to see some AFE filters as an option too, but they're all about the same when it comes down to it.

Very nice. Dumb question, MAP invested in a mandrel bender right? Wonder why they still weld the exhaust, maybe piping size? Still looks great and awesome numbers. Id be extremely happy with that setup.

Ive done DCTC many times, just never went for it at BIR or anything. Now its on haha, definitely getting addicted just being around the RS Motors guys and how much they do it.

My personal update from the USCA event in Texas, some copy and pasted from FB haha.
I did fairly well, 9/16 in my class and 29/67 overall. My best event came in the speed stop where I finished 8th overall and 5th in my class. I learned a lot for my first competitive driving event and my first time really feeling out the GTR. I am disappointed but only because I'm competitive and can't wait to right my mistakes I made on the track and better my driving skills. The car is a beast, probably too much for this driver as of now but seat time can only help! My next USCA event will be NCM in Bowling Green, KY. Thanks to [MENTION=94]maperformance[/MENTION] [MENTION=35]RSMotors[/MENTION] (still feel bad we didnt have white RS Motor decals :/) and many more for your help with this car and giving me driving tips along the way! Haven't updated this in forever! Not a whole lot has changed, I put some 2014 wheels on and bought a some new Michelin Super Sports for them. Best all around tire you can buy IMO.
Autocrossed the car quite a bit in 2016, took it down the drag strip as well a few times...because I just had too haha. Ran a 10.7@129 at PG2016.2. Finally got that elusive 10sec quarter that evaded me for years in the Evos. The car looks great. I couldn't agree more about Michelin PSS tires; that's what the C7 comes with from the factory and when it was time for a replacement set I went right back to the same. I look forward to the upcoming PS4S or whatever they're calling them too. |
