Re: 3/4 cylinders
Valve melted to the valve seat. Taking my injectors to be flow tested/ cleaned at RavenWorks. Any other reasons it could have burnt like that? Head has around 152K and is all stock

Re: 3/4 cylinders
Just dropped the head off at Gosh. Going to be cleaning up the bay a little bit. Next is to drop the injectors off to be flow tested. Will also need to remove the flapper for my new external wastegate and o2 housing.

Re: 3/4 cylinders
If the injectors test out fine what else could be a cause? Trying to eliminate all the possibilities that could have caused a burnt valve.
Mark and I discovered that the chunk of my missing valve had melted to my valve seat. I tried to get a pic but my phone isn't the best up close. |
Re: 3/4 cylinders
Lots of buildup on the valves too from the looks of it. That can cause hotspots, but I haven't seen it like that before. I wouldn't get too worried about it, just replace it and put it back together and hope for no turbine damage.

Re: 3/4 cylinders
Turbo is perfect. Took it all apart last night cause I was nervous that a chunk had to of fallen into it, but nope! Still a little hesitant but all checked out.
Waiting to hear from Gosh to see if I need new seats (which i'm positive I will) and if they had any valve seals in stock cause I couldn't find mine in time. Then taking my injectors in on Friday morning. Hoping everything goes as planned. |

This is where the crank lined up to the timing mark when the cams with lined up and at TDC. How does it look?

Re: 3/4 cylinders
I'm no expert here but it looks like the crank trigger is a tooth off.

Re: 3/4 cylinders
That's what I was thinking. Want to get it perfect when I put the belt back on.
