Anyone from map wanna answer if the rules for SA are gonna change from last yr? Like lexan hatch glass? Or had to be a stock maf?

Nope, I don't want to win. I just don't want to waste money on weight reduction like a carbon hatch and not be able to run lexan window as the rear glass is a majority of the weight.

FYI LOVE IS ON THE WAY! I just got off the phone with Nate thanking him once again for his efforts, and letting him know they will no be wasted. We plan to move forward with almost exactly what he has laid out. I have listed out a few key changes below just as an advanced heads up, right now we are updating our site and working with BIR to finalize the pre registration and should have new threads posted by the end of the week.
*R35 GTR's will be allowed in SA/U only *We added Index racing classes for all import and domestics ranging from 11.5-13.0 in .5 intervals *We have a 13.0+ bracket class *We are working on a "quick 16" like class |

Nice on the GTR's moving to SA/U. That seems very fair. Even then they will mop up still I am sure lol. But gives 4 cylinders a chance.

Awesome! I know some of the Honda guys had some valid issues with some of classes on MNHondas, but I think it was mostly minor things like allowing a fuel cell up front on the NA cars.

In Nate's rules it says the normal stock appearing is only for 4 cylinder cars, guess it depends if they use those rules or just a very abridged version.

What do you guys do about insurance? I'm contemplating running but I know Progressive won't have anything to do with me if there's an incident. I wouldn't feel comfortable running unless I knew I was insured...

I've always known that if I wreck it on the track, it's on me. I've known a few people that have limped their cars out to the highway before calling insurance though. :D

For the road course I assume? Probably don't need it for autox or drag strip.
You can buy specific HPDE insurance, but I haven't. |

are there any rules about battery relocates in the trunk as far as battery boxes or cut switches?

I know for drag racing if the battery is in the trunk(normally not a factory location) and fallowing NHRA rules a battery box and cut off switch would need to be installed.
IDK what they do with the new Camaro and Dodge (to avoid... lol) Challenger and Charger which they come from the factory in the trunk. ~John |

All NHRA rules should apply. So if you have a battery in your trunk I would expect to need a vented box with external cutoff.

I would have to look into the rules more, but what about a sealed trunk/fire wall from the trunk to cabin area.
My car with any luck could be up there doing stuff the 21st. All major block work is done, I am not going to change anything fab wise so its a bolt together and go deal. I am waiting or Orings to be machined into the block, and a few minor parts to show up this week, then its go time. I figure if I have my small pile of parts and my block with orings by Thursday this week, I will be up there making full passes on E98 at 42-45psi. I hope to run a 10.0 for sure. ~John |

Timing... My car is pending sale now. If it doesn't work out I'm selling the Volks to fix the trans. Since I justified that to myself as not actually spending more money on the car.
Then I'll bring it to PG. |
