I betcha it makes 415-420 whp stock.

I like it, a lot. I'm thinking this will drop the C6 prices down quite a bit as well, that's the one I want. If there's any way I could swing a C6Z, that would really be the end game.

I was just looking at how much I could sell the evo for and put a downpayment on one lol. NO way I am rocking two car payments though. Maybe my dad will go 50/50 with me on one :)

I could trade my X (paid off in June) in on this in July when it comes out, finance it for 3 years, and my payment would be lower than I currently have on my X right now. I think I would rather drive around with a paid-off X though...

I am right there with you. I would be sold if it is AWD. I love the looks of it and they fixed all of the bad things about the C6. Nice interior and I like the looks of the outside, the C6 does nothing for me, especially the headlights.

turbotalon1g 01-15-2013 02:17 PM

Re: New Corvette, mkay?

^why you set on awd? (just curious, not being weird or anything)

Unless you are making some crazy street racing car or winter driving, I'm not sure you need it.

Winter driving, going to drive my fun car year around :D I am sick of putting cars away for 4-5 months a year.

For those of you who have GT5, the C7 final prototype is free, and in the PS store...

although you can't change its color, wheels, or modify it...

Its pretty cool, the interior is cool to see and the lcd screen in gauge cluster is in there as well.

Kracka 01-16-2013 11:10 AM

Re: New Corvette, mkay?

Definitely will download that one.

Nice, what kinda power you gonna make?

JET 01-16-2013 12:24 PM

Re: New Corvette, mkay?

Still too early to even know what car I end up getting, nonetheless what power I make. I will have a GTR or something similar (C7 or 997tt?) in the next ~5 years, could be as early as a year away. If it is a GTR then 650awhp seems to be the sweet spot. You can do that on a mostly stock car and stay reliable. Depends on what job the wife gets next and how the house situation goes. We are refi'ing the current one when I get done with it and going to build a new one on the west side.

I will likely end up with an interim car though, thinking Audi TT or Evo MR right now. If that is the case I will get one as soon as we refi, which will be this summer/fall. I really don't want to spend $55k on a car, it just seems wrong, but I am done heavily modding 4 cyls.

Kracka 01-16-2013 01:23 PM

Re: New Corvette, mkay?

X MR? My good friend down here is actually going to be selling his 2010 Evo X MR Touring within a month or two. It's nicely modded already, making 400+ WHP on 93-octane, and a SSP/Cobb built SST transmission to match. Let me know if you're interested, pricing will be in the low to mid $30's. Nothing wrong with the car at all, he's just moving to a 2013 Evo X MR Touring.

Re: New Corvette, mkay?

I was a little leery to say anything because of that :P Things sure have changed around for us recently. It is nice having 2 people in mid-senior level management (my wife is an HR Manager). While we are far from rich, we are doing well and we don't live an extravagent lifestyle. We don't go out very often at all and we don't eat out much. We are ok with spending some money on our cars and house though. Anyway, not sure how this got so far off the subject of a C7!

turbotalon1g 01-16-2013 04:38 PM

Re: New Corvette, mkay?

^well congrats dood!!
We are just trying to get 2 of us with FT jobs in our field!

Well I'm glad things are going well for you.

I wonder if they will get this C7 into the 9s on slicks alone.

I would like to see a few more angles, but I like it! The little spoiler in the back is really nice.

I know, I know, start the flaming now. But I don't like all the red on the inside! It's too much.

The other pics look really cool.

Re: New Corvette, mkay?

They always have a red interior option, but most go with black or gray. I like the new dark brown option.

The website says that is the spoiler on the non Z51 equipped cars.

I don't like red interiors either... remind me of 70's and 80's for some reason...
