Oh I did. I just figured I'd add my input to help you decide. :spin:

Re: Auto 3

Looks like ill be pushing foward with the mirage swap. As clean as it is I couldn't sell it for more than 3k running and have no desire to drive a 1G at this time. So with that said I'm gonna bolt up the trans and starter do a comp test on the motor and actually make sure it runs.

It's just worth more parted not to mention ill be able to pay for the parts I need and use the parts from the 1G and invest little to no money in the swap. At least that's my logical thinking anyways.

Re: Auto 3

I looked at the car a while ago . It's clean but needs fender and door. And the the motor hasn't ran for like 3 years or something like that . I'm sure you got a good deal tho and a lot of parts .

CornFed2.4 02-09-2013 09:52 AM

Re: Auto 3

Yeah he said its been a few yrs. it does have the bad fender and door from previous owner pinching the fender while opening the door. But other than that and a few dings its clean. Gonna throw a tranny in and see if she starts. Lol

Re: Auto 3

Possible. I need quite a few things off it so I guess have to see once I have all my swap parts.

Re: Auto 3

So Sunday I'm planning on tearing the rearend out of the blue 1G. Then were off to the dells for a few days over the kids spring break.

Then it's go time. I've already lined up a few people to help with the swap but the plan is to start putting the rear end in the weekend of the 9th.

Also picked up turbotalon1g's Plx wideband.
Made the decision to go T3 (still looking for a deal) and use a 5862 BB unit if funds approve.

Also I'm not against getting 2150's but could I get away with high z 1680's

Reason I ask is I think ill be fine is I had low 1600s on the talon with a rewired supra fuel pump. So I think a a rewired 255 on a b-a-p and high z 1600 should be more than enough with some room to grow.

Things I still need to get
Cams 272s
Pump
Turbo
Mani
Smim
2G awd Trans
Clutch
Injectors

If you have any of the above shoot me a message.

Looking forward to this car being out this summer.

Re: Auto 3

I like the idea of going t3! Also if you need a hand let me know. I think I'm going to go up walbro 400 pumps before I get my car tuned. So i might have a couple fuel pumps available

CornFed2.4 02-23-2013 01:36 AM

Re: Auto 3

Perfect. 1of those flows more than a 255 right. Not positive what pumps you had.

4seasons69 02-23-2013 01:46 AM

Re: Auto 3

Yeah. They are walbro 310lph pumps out of a Ford GT

CornFed2.4 02-24-2013 10:51 PM

Re: Auto 3

So me an 99gsxjoel did a lot today. We pulled the 6 bolt out of the 1G and dropped the rear end. Now it's tucked under the mirage waiting to get put in.

Rear end is a 4 bolt LSD w/ braided brake lines.

Also started to look at fuel cells and pretty sure I'm got run in line Bosch pump. With lines pump cell fittings and cell brackets. Runs right around $600-$800

Making progress!

The Ford GT pumps are not 310lph, they flow about the same or slightly less than a Walbro 255.

CornFed2.4 02-25-2013 10:53 AM

Re: Auto 3

Thanks Shane. I'm gonna run inlines pump/pumps with a fuel cell.

Re: Auto 3

Just want to confirm before I do anything with the trans.

Tim Zimmer ( tmz performance) said all yrs 2g trans an t-cases wil be compatible with the 1G rear diff. Only difference being auto to manual.

So I plan on getting a t-case and trans from a buddy. It's a 98 manual trans and matching t-case. Just want someone to confirm what I read that it will indeed work with the 1G rear diff. Can use manual front parts with auto rears and vice versa.

To keep the project moving I'm gonna start cleaning up the rear subframe/diff. I ordered the rear energy bushing kit last night. So hopefully here by Friday.

Shane@DBPerformance 02-25-2013 12:31 PM

Re: Auto 3

Yea, it should. I have run 2G trans/t-case in 1Gs before.

CornFed2.4 02-25-2013 12:56 PM

Re: Auto 3

Just gotta match t-case with trans. 95-96 trans w/92-96 case 97-99 trans w/ 97-99 case. Rears are the same.

Awesome! Thanks for confirming.

That's another step done then. Just need to send it out for refresh.

*probably should change my thread title since I'm going 5 spd so I can whip this bish around some cones and possibly open her up in some road racing.

Then I was misinformed. These pumps will definitely be replaced this spring then!

Nice progress! I can't wait to see this thing done

I've got that same box of bushings, rockauto sent me them when I ordered what was supposed to be a set of front control arm bushings. I decided to keep them and I'll be putting them in soon.

Haha you got it easy, your subframe is already out. If you have press tools and torch just in case you shouldn't have any problems. I'm doing mine soon, I'll be dropping the tank, and rear subframe. going to install this white line rear sway bar and run new fuel line. I might find a set of active toe eliminator while I'm at it.

CornFed2.4 03-01-2013 07:11 PM

The active toe is what Aaron told me to buy.
