Yes it does take a dollar to get your car into the meet... Do I agree with it 100%, No but it does go for a good cause. It does take time and money to run something that large. Just an example when was the last time you went to a hardware store and bought 300 feet of extension cord. it isn't cheap, or a generator to power the little light that is there.

As for racing. No there isn't any racing that goes on around the meet for one reason, and one reason only if it gets busted it will go back to the meet and shut it down. Then there would be no meet at all.

Seems like a good reason to charge a buck. maybe weed out some of the garbage. Oh and thanks for classifying me as a "collar popping flatbill Monster hat wearing douch bags" lol

But yeah I have been with the RKC crew for 5 years now back when the meets where out in maple grove, and it isn't the same. Some for the good, and some for the not so good.

Don't get me wrong, bud. Your GSX is one of the few cars their that I like to look at. Plus, you seem to be a decent guy. I'm just pointing out the fact that 2/3 of the people in attendance were flat billed douche-tards. This was also back when the meets were held out at MAP. They are too clicky, and my friends and I did NOT feel welcome.

Hell, my friend who drives a Lumina was told he couldn't park in the show lot. He has a 3.4 top end swap, exhaust and intake, LTZ interior, and a Monte Body swap. He has put a lot of work into his car, and to be told he can't park in the meet lot was bullshit because the dude running the gate didn't think a "base" Lumina was worthy of the RKC throne.

Again, I'm not too up to date on the politics of RKC, they might have changed. They might be more open to letting specific cars in the lot, IDK. But the way we were treated was bullshit. Heck, convince me that Troy and the gang have changed, and I might make an appearance.

It's a lumina.

F&F hit and everyone thinks they can turn anything into a race car.

You're mad that a Lumina wasn't let into a meet? In no way will I ever defend RK but that's ridiculous. Who cares if it's a base model, LTZ, or even had a 350 in it. If it's not tubbed out and has something with power, it's still just a Lumina. Kinda like a Neon is a Neon if it's not an SRT4.... But even those are still junky Neons.

If you're that mad over a Lumina, I wonder how you'd feel if the regional leader tried racing you, crashed into you and sent you and your fiance into the wall.

If RKC is a club that welcomes any car, no matter make or model into their "eclub", why does it matter if he drives a Lumina or a Lambo. If he had tried getting into cars and coffee and got declined, nbd...but they claim to be about "uniting imports and domestic against rice" so what difference does it make? He's a mature, smart, educated guy. He likes his Luminas, lol.

Then I heard they weren't allowing some cars in because they were project cars and didn't have a shiny paintjob. For a "club" interested in all makes and models, they sure know how to make you feel inadequate. I'm all for a free meet across the street. Bet $5 they send someone over and invite us to their meet.

they let a cougar in that had a fart can sticking out way past the bumper... but my jetta was not allowed because of the front valance was missing......

There is nothing mature, smart or educated about liking a lumina.

He is only saying that because he didn't get in, and probably why he is upset.

So I went to wagners tonight for dinner and ran into a few people in line, decided to then walk over with them to the meet (heck if I am paying a dollar to walk around for ten mins). I have never seen so many d-bag, flat billed hat wearing tweens (yes I am calling them tweens as most were pimply faced and no older looking than 19) in my life what a joke!. not to mention the way people drive to a from the meet, running red lights, revving engines, speeding etc. I do not want to associate with that. On a side note wagners was delicious as usual and the hot rods were nice to see!

Those are the same flat billed tools who think they can come in to our dealership and buy a $36,000 Evo with their $10.50 an hour job and 0 credit history.

I get back from AFG for vacation on a Monday. I'm going to go if I'm not a zombie, mostly because people keep talking about how awesome wagners' food is and I've never been there.

I was planning to go to this today, mainly because of nice weather...but was thwarted due to non evo startness. Got it running 20 mins ago now but too late for the meet. Next week I guess.

welcome to the demise of the car scene, almost like the housing market. Instead people that are car guys are arent tool bags get to suffer.

Re: RKC Weekly meets

The reason why I never go to these meets is because of timing but it seems like there's a good amount of people there that think their cars are "the shit". It really sucks to read this because it's rare to find people who are open minded and educate you on what you should do to the car rather than "I have a done this in my accord, it should work in your Evo"

seriously I will go to wagners and eat there food and hang with the hot rodders on some mondays when I work till 6. I would much rather look at an old classic driven by someone who knows what there talking about, then a bunch of kids who think they know.

Re: RKC Weekly meets

The couple of times I went to RKC stuff when I had been in MN it was ok. Though there were a few people each time that as soon as they opened their mouths and said something dumb I went full blown troll.

I did have someone at one of those tell me about flipping the brackets that hold some of the harness to the valve cover. Flipping it hides the loom and looks a lot cleaner for 20 seconds of work.
