It just needs to be officially determined if the crank is bad or just needs to be polished. A $50 set of bearings isn't the seller's responsibility. The buyer, if he really does think he deserves money back, should be more than happy with bringing it to someone else to look at it.

Time for Mark to work it out with the seller. Plenty of options have been brought to the table so the ball is now in Mark's court. If he has comments he'd like to make he is more than free to start his own feedback thread.
