Tomorrow's the day it goes under the knife! Hopefully we get it all done w/o any major headaches.

Nice! You guys putting just the black on or exhaust mani and other stuff too this weekend?

Good luck, hopefully it goes smoothly!

As you can see I am whoring the all boards now, with quick replies, lol, can't focus on work right now...friday and tune coming.

Re: T-revzr's Evo

Luv friday :) We're doing everything, zero sense in doing work twice. The manifold has to come off for the turbo, as well as doing the o2 housing, intake for the clutch fork stopper, etc etc. We'll take off: downpipe, intake, turbo assembly (manifold, turbo, o2 housing), LICP, and put on:

Rosey clutch fork stopper
FP Black
MAP Rev2 exhaust manifold
ETS LICP
Megan Downpipe (w/ actual ACD clearance :) )

Then log it, make sure its safe and he isn't immediately out of injector/pump. Then in a few weeks we'll drop in the double-pumper (I think he decided on the BlaqOps progressive and see how far that takes him on the 1000's) and then hit the dyno for a full tune from shane.

Silk made 450whp @DB last summer with a double-pumper and 1000's, hopefully this setup will be able to do the same. That's as far as I would want to push teh stock bottom-end on an evo8/9 anyways. Hopefully we'll be able to gauge how much injector he has left with some street logging before he hits the dyno, but with these kinds of things there is unfortunately a bit of trial/error (mostly trial) to get things right. If Trev lands on a pile of cash, maybe he'll do the 1250's right away too, who knows.

Trev, is your BOV crushed yet? If not, we should do so.

sounds pretty good man. estimating 450awhp eh? not bad at all.

No bov is not crushed. Forgot to mention that to you last night. Are we going to do a log first on the street before we put everything on?

With a built bottom end, crank the boost, and a few other bits, this turbo should be able to do 500whp on shane's dyno.

Yup, come to the front door, we'll go do a few quick pulls, then pull it into the garage and get started. With luck, we may have some before/after virtual dyno room graphs to post saturday night :)

Fun fun! Shane and BlaqOPs seem to be staying busy. Upgrade season. :D

My car is going to be packed with stuff for your garage! I'll have to drop a bunch of stuff off in the garage to even get you in the car first lol..

Re: T-revzr's Evo

Oh right, that. :D Ok new plan, call me when you're close, I'll meet you out back. I'll have the garage floor nice and clean, we'll be spending plenty of time on it getting that downpipe out/in!

Re: T-revzr's Evo

I purchased a BAP from Shane last summer, still have yet to install it. I'm fine on a single pump and 1250cc injectors at 430's hp right now but I am sure I am close to being out of pump. I think the BAP will get the pump well over 500hp on E85 on a dyno dynamics.

Trevor and Chris, hope things go smoothly on the install. Wish I could help but work owns me right now.

Lookin' good! I drove a VIII MR on E85 with a Black today. Once it finally got spooled that fucker pulled hard!

^He might not be talking about the turbo. :scared:

Turbo looks awesome, it must be nice to have some FP goodness.

I can't believe that little thing will trap 140+ all day.

Murlo26 02-27-2010 09:23 PM

Re: T-revzr's Evo

^I wouldn't call that little, that turbo is huge!

Re: T-revzr's Evo

Goddamn FP 25psi WGA broke as we were putting the turbo assembly together :( The little nipple pretty much just fell off. Not impressed.
http://i.imgur.com/FaGbH.jpg

So we effed with the stock evo8 12psi (?) wga quite a bit and got it to fit (as a temporary measure). It seems to hold boost fine but I think getting the FP WGA on there some time will be worthwhile, since the evo8 actuator is kinda tweaked and hacked in there. Anyways, got it to hold about 25psi until he gets the double-pumper, then he can take it to shane and see what this thing will really do!

We did some before/after pulls this morning when trev showed up, then after we got the boost kinda dialed in we did some pulls for virtual dyno room:

Bought the black from map. Going to have to talk to Chris Carey at map about it. Hopefully he can get fp to replace it.

SHit, dyno room thing looks promising.

Sorry to hear about the actuator, hope u get it done soon.

I'll definitely do what I can for you sir, but it's ultimately FP's decision how to handle it, I can't imagine they wouldn't replace it.

Well went to Map today and showed them my wastegate. They got right on the computer to talk to FP and explained what had happened. I get my new wastegate actuator this week!

I don't get it.

Re: T-revzr's Evo

Today I changed out my wga that I had got from fp. It's the 25psi wga. I had the stock one on and it worked great and i would get 430 whp all the time with vdr. Now since Ive changed it Im getting 390 whp. Same boost! What could be wrong? My tq is also down alot like 335 wtq. I checked the compression across it goes like this 170 160 175 170. Can that 160 be hurting me? Do you think my compression is fine? Any info on what I can do or what yu think is greatly appreciated!

Kracka 03-18-2010 04:08 PM

Re: T-revzr's Evo

I blame VDR. It has yet to prove itself consistent and reliable in my mind. I've used it a few times and see too many discrepancies between runs.

How does your boost curve look though? Exact same throughout the entire powerband or just the same peak level?

Your compression numbers sound fine, especially considering your mileage.
