Re: New to E85. Getting a baseline...

Driving home today doing some mid throttle pulls and just rolling into it I was hitting 10.5:1. It's almost like the 550's aren't hacking it, which I suppose is possible, but it's just an 11b.
Just going WOT I'm still getting 13:1 a/f or leaner and duty cycles near 100. When it was really cold this morning I got a duty cycle reading of 185. Is that even possible??

In any case it looks like I need to up the ante to the 780cc injectors. I just don't think the car will start. The idle adjustment on the VPC doesn't seem to be doing shit.

And the VPC isn't lying to your logger about duty cycles?

I dont think so. Duty cycle is duty cycle right? The VPC only lies about airflow as far as I know.

Hmm...for some reason I find it very hard to believe you're completely maxing out 550's on an 11b. Sounds to me like something isn't quite right. Maybe something with the VPC is messed up?

anything over 100% IDC means that your injectors are staying wide open. That can cause them to stick/destroy themselves. Anything over 85% IDC is not recommended. Also, 550s are VERY small for e85 even for 10 pounds of boost. Just get some bigger injectors, I would say 1200cc would be ideal for up to 50lbs/min.
