Do people not understand he wants to sell the whole car now?

Re: Full Built 1ga Part Out!

I think he should just fix it!

The car basically needs a new block, which needs to be machined, and the engine needs to be assembled. Thats a lot of work, and cash! I think he'd get money sooner/faster by parting it out. But with the amount of work required to pull the stuff, he could fix the engine!

Re: Full Built 1ga Part Out!

you would have much better luck selling this thing in peices, and lowering your prices. I mean for the same price someone could buy kevin's rock solid 1g vs. this thing that is going to need a good amount of work to get it running again. just my 2¢...

Re: Full Built 1ga Part Out!

^^agreed. Not trying to stir the pot, just saying that idk if there's a buyer for a non running $5k car. I'd be interested in a couple things, as well as I'm sure others would be too.

Re: Full Built 1ga Part Out!

Just a quick word of advice. If you have the time and effort to part the whole thing out, and the room to do so, do it (it didnt require too much effort, just a couple days of pulling the parts i knew needed to be sold and the parts people were requesting). The last partout i did, i wanted to sell the car for $5000 just like you but when it crankwalked i ended up selling all of the parts at very low prices and made over $6500. I posted the partout on dsmstyle, dsmlink and dsmtuners. You probably would be able to make a lot more as i didnt have a good block, pistons or crank. Set up a spreadsheet with all of your parts, then put a column for how much you want for the parts, and how much you actually got for the parts. then keep a seperate sheet for shipping information. Youll be surprized as to how much you will get, and also how many wierd parts people want. the key is organization.
Then when everything is sold and you are happy with the end result, sell the shell to a auto recycling. (in both cars i have parted out, i havent gotten anythign for them, but they took them away for free)

So does that mean you are parting it out now? or are you still trying to sell as a whole?
