summer would be fine, you all must drive your car in the summer anyway.

Does anyone know the guy that had the blowout? I've seriously been looking for that DC sweatshirt for like 5 months now!

Anyway looks like it was a great time, I thought Hughes was gonna make way more power than he did, do you know exactly what went wrong? I'm happy with my WHP now, looks like my Evo is pulling some good numbers considering the mods!

He works at MAP.

I SHOULD be making way more power but I am over-running my stock fuel injectors so the car is going way rich (its just dumping fuel in) and then going really lean in the higher RPM's. Add that to my eratic boost control b/c of the GM BCS and its just a big mess. It'll all be fixed and ready to rock within a few weeks though and I'll be back on the dyno!

Wish I could've made it, but my cars still down.

Looked like a hell of a time! Wish I would have been there and ran though, my estimated numbers make me feel like I would fit in. lol everyones in or below 350whp range.

Thanks to everyone for coming out.
The SRT-4 would have easily had the top number, if the tire hadn't blown out.

Hey Kracka, do they make a better BCS than the gm? I am using the gm BCS and I also hate it. :score003:

Was that with the old fiddy?

Re: Spring Dyno Day Results and Pics!

The GM BCS is ok on it's own, there are better ones, but the main problem with any BCS on an Evo is going to be the poor manner in which the ECU does boost control.

It works pretty good for me with the JDM MAP sensor and the direct psi boost control mod. The load based boost control kinda sucks though

yeah i have the gm bcs controlled by load, and i am anxious to get the map sensor

Thats the only way i would really attempt it.

Thanks Mitsustyle and DBPerformance for putting together another fun dyno day! 28 cars is rediculous!

I am going to try pressure-based boost control with the Evo X MAP sensor; if I'm not happy with that then the GM BCS will go into the garbage can.

Interesting how a neon almost made most HP at a mitsu dyno day. haha :P

AWD can be a killer on HP numbers.

Im not really interested in that :news: :)

I still consider an SRT-4 a DSM, it's not really but they're close cousins in a weird way! I'll be interested to see how your GM BCS works with the Evo X MAP Sensor, sounds like a great upgrade if it works the way it's supposed to!

$MD out.

Sucks I had to leave early. My 1:30 appointment didn't show up anyways. After fixing some bugs this weekend, I should be ready to dyno again with all the changes.

I am a bit bummed that my car was WAY down on power since I last dyno'd, but at least I know where my issues are so hopefully within a month I'm able to get back on the dyno and crank out at least another 25-30 whp.

food was awesome chris. although i didnt get the 220 i wanted, i'll get over that next time we do a dyno day. there were a bunch of evos there too. can i have a ride in someones Evo next time??!!

Just ask one of us. I don't think most of us would care to give a ride, unless Evo rides start turning into a carnival event or something...then it might just get annoying...

BTW..Jake I owe you a ride still.

Yea the SRT-4 almost made top HP numbers at 4.5k lol. Turbo had just hit full boost, sounded mean.

They only rev to 6200 rpm, what did it make at 4500rpm? Sorry we could not stay longer, had to finish moving stuff.

Maybe two or three years ago, I had a big thread about my 20G car having fuel cut... No one believed me... I even got banned because of it! Well, my mostly stock 1G hits fuel cut at 15psi (I found that out at the dyno day!) Thats the exact same thing it was doing three years ago, so if I could go back in time, I'd give you all a big middle finger!

I was really impressed by that ricey looking white 2G that made like 339 awhp on a 16G, sidemount IC, using an SAFC2. It really is all about making what u have work together as best they can.

I was talking to that guy, he might of had link not sure, he said he post on the DSMlink boards and that he tuned everything him self. Also he has a built bottom end with higher compression pistons. However, if you were to look under his hood you would swear it's basically stock.

That guy needs to go race people for $100 a race and become a rich man very quickly lol. He even admitted his engine bay looks worse than stock. :)

Fiberglass fenders and aftermarket rims is ricey? When I first got my car I hated the rims but now I think they fit the car well. When I bought the car it had a stupid bodykit on it; I wouldn't even want to be seen driving something with that crap on it.

I actually don't use the SAFC2 anymore as anything more than a display - settings are zeroed. I tune with TunerProRT.

I don't think a FMIC is really necessary. I don't know if the SMIC I have flows well or not, but I'm planning keeping it for a while yet (probably as long as I have the car).

I had hoped for higher numbers but at a lot higher boost; I guess I should've cranked my boost up on the drive there instead of on the dyno between runs.

Actually I said "I wish I had higher compression pistons". It has lower than stock - 8.0:1. Thats how I bought it.

I have a galant valvecover that says mitsubishi on it which I was thinking of having powdercoated red, but then people would think more of my car so I don't think I'm going to.

I do wish I at least had some aftermarket cams and 10:1 pistons, then it would have more power but still look the same.

My dad has a mustang that dynoed at 524 torque / 469 HP on an engine dyno, and he is scared to race me -- he pulled me a little bit when I was running gas and just the SAFC2 tune.
