If you are affraid of breaking the rear diff, use a conquest one. I'll sell you one for 100 bucks.

3.54 gears stock, you can get 3.90's or 4.10's or leave it, get a spool and call it done.

Re: Project Drag Talon

I remember something about someone telling me that my car didnt have much fabrication involved with it, etc, etc... Something along the lines of I should read the SFI booklet, etc, etc... Anyways... SFI 25.1E Evo:

http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=251529

It was tough not to say anything before. I believe it should classify as a Project. In fact I think it is slightly more involved than Jakes. Like someone posted earlier.... Those silly Winonians. Moron destroyed a $30k car.... What an idiot.

yea i would still say that, but to each his own.

Re: Project Drag Talon

Dont be jealous :) Destroying my car also would technically make it worth more anyways. Think... Buschnuts sold his tube car for $40k without an engine... I would guess an Evo would be worth more :)

Fuck YES! Its about time you let the news out Tim! Glad to be apart of it and share the shop with ya... Weeeeeeeeee!

Buscher's car set a few records in its day, i'd say that makes it worth a bit more than parts alone.

Did you ask shep what he paid for the tube car, or is this baseless?

EclipseGST 02-16-2007 03:53 AM

Re: Project Drag Talon

It was posted what he paid for it... Also, this car sets a record just rolling out of the shop. Its the one and only of its kind. First ever, let alone going to make quite a few single digit passes this year!

rst95eclipse 02-16-2007 04:29 AM

Re: Project Drag Talon

If I could do this, and I mean either car, I sure has hell would. As for the Evo, it's no shit. I've never seen something so extensive in my life.

EclipseGST 02-16-2007 04:42 AM

Re: Project Drag Talon

The funny thing is, there were people on here giving Tim shit about their cars having a lot more fabrication involved than his... My car has more fabrication than theirs let alone Tims RWD drag car yet neither one of us have a performance shop or any special tools given to help us! Go figure.

But I guess some people on here have more fabrication than it takes to make a Pro RWD drag car like Brent Rau or even an Evo like Tim.

Great, I have to clean this crap up once again. Here's an idea... Just one idea. make another thread on it so this one doesn't get into another "my opinion, your opinion" shit storm when all it shoudl be for is updates and comments about Jake's project.

Good luck with both projects guys, looking forward to seeing them this season.

I would have picked a different body for a full tube chassis car, but that is just me.

Wow..... Tim, you are a god amongst DSMers.

Re: Project Drag Talon

Tim, you should post pics of your brake setup. I believe my exact words were "Don't you have to upgrade your brakes when you upgrade your brakes?"

EvilEvo 02-16-2007 01:34 PM

Re: Project Drag Talon

Sorry I will start my own thread for my project so this one stays Jakes :)

I dont understand the brake question but Ill post some pics of the brakes if ya want. The rears are big but the fronts.... lol... they cant do much. They say right on the box "Designed to be used with the assistance of a parachute ONLY. Failure to follow this may result in death".

AJ 02-16-2007 01:49 PM

Re: Project Drag Talon

Tim, can you also attach a few pics when you create a thread? The IMG links are blocked by my work and I'd liek to see some of this. Onc eyou got one going I'll clean this one up and then hopefully you guys will get Jake to update us some more. :D

EvilEvo 02-16-2007 05:53 PM

Re: Project Drag Talon

I made a new thread so thats taken care of. I guess I didnt know what you meant by attaching the pics... I dont know if you have an upload area or what but I did include some pics that Jake took an put on Photobucket so you should be able to see those ones I think.

Jake hasnt done too much more with his car recently. I think he is planning on getting the front end finished up maybe this weekend but Im not sure.

EclipseGST 02-16-2007 10:18 PM

Re: Project Drag Talon

Yep... I took a break for awhile. I'm in no rush. I had to take care of some other things around the shop, was running out of room so I made a loft for some storage and had to get my ass in gear and build a clean engine room as well so I can get going on a few engine builds that I have to get done.

I should have the front end tubed by the end of the month, March will be engine build/install and tune, April will be safety month, haha. Should be done by the dyno day. We'll see!

Allen... No need to clean up, just leave it.
