Ohhh this is why its going to be sad to leave you guys. But you know there will be parties whenever I come back around!

Steve: yah, that would have been sweet other than the fact that the shop is sooooo far from my house.

I'll still be around the site for sure. Interweb FTW!

In all seriousness, I have yet to see anything decent. Everything has been all riced out! I have seen one mitsu. A 2g with Altezzas. Naturally asperated. It's a bit upsetting. No SRT's, no Evo's, no STi's. I saw one S2k. An old guy driving it though and it looked stock. We'll see what I find. I always find soemthing :)

Re: Moving :(

I suppose I could check that out. Back in the day Spring Creek over by the Stonebriar mall in the Frisco/Plano area was pretty good. One stop light with a nice 1/4 mile stretch beyond that.

On another note, it's a bit lonely out here I won't lie. I have managed to catch up with some old friends, but I'm still pretty bored. We partied last night, and, in true Tauni fashion, managed to almost get caught. But still, I'm begining to wonder if this is going to exactly what I thought it would be: a big fucking let down.

Eh, its all what you make of it. I thought the same thing when I went off to college because I didn't know anyone really, and all my high school friends went other places. I was thinking "man I would be having a ton more fun if I was at college with them" which at the time was probably true, but then I met a bunch of really cool people, and now I see their profiles on facebook and they are still partying with the same people from high school and I realize I made the right choice, for me at least.

Things will get better, the first couple weeks might suck, but I am sure you will make friends and meet car people eventually, at least give it some time.

Tauni 08-27-2006 05:25 PM

Re: Moving :(

Yah, thats true, I'm sure I will meet people whenever I go back to school. It sucks though, I have no car, no life, and my mom is still super controlling. I don't get it either. I've never gotten in trouble with her and it still seems like she doesn't trust me. I always tell her where I'm going and who I'm with, so it's not like I don't keep her informed, but 19 year old Tauni still has a cerfew. And this "family time" bullshit is getting out of control. I feel like she doesn't get the fact that I'm able to take care of myself and make my own descions, which I have been doing since highschool. I'm going to wait it out though. As much as I would lvoe to come back, I don't think it's polite to get up and leave 3 days after you arrive.

But my dad is supposed to make a special trip down to drop off my stuff. Maybe I will climb in the back of the truck when he leaves.....

Yeah, my parents are the same way, you can ask almost anyone here who knows me (and gives me shit for it :) ) curfews will go away eventually, but unless you are paying rent there isn't a whole lot complaining will get you, accept them offering to let you pay rent.

The only real option there is to move out, or somehow manage to convince your mom to let you stay out, and if you do that, let me know what you said because I need to ditch my curfew shit as well.

A//// Guy 08-27-2006 07:30 PM

Re: Moving :(

Yea I used to have a curfew as well and my parents would always get on my case about staying out late. Somehow after I turned 21 they just stopped caring slowly... which was really weird because I never thought my parents would change on that subject. Now weekends own but I shouldnt be living with them too much longer so that will be good.

You just have to go out and stay out a few times.. or not come home. Its risky but can work if they deal with it right.

Re: Moving :(

Tauni, you lived with your dad how long? But I don't know how long that is. Your mom does not know how you are now. I have a feeling she misses you. But like it was said. Give it time. She come around for you. Ya she could be overprotective but eh...thats parents for ya.

Re: Moving :(

Hey Tauni, I know the feeling I moved back to Tx a few years ago and then moved back here, but didn't have an awesome job lined up like you. That's cool though I'm from garland which isn't too far away.

I'll be down there in either this Sept or next March we'll have to meet up if you're feeling home sick. It's gonna be a really bitchin road trip with the 3kGT. It's just too bad 35W is the most boring road in the US.

DoughtCom 08-28-2006 02:15 AM

Re: Moving :(

Oh yeah... There are a shitload of nice cars in the Dallas area you must be in a bad area for cars. The cars down there are generally really fucking pimp. Especially on the highway.... what do you think of the driving down there?

I remember last year (actually exactly a year ago this weekend) I was driving and everyone is doing 90 in a 10 lane highway and I look over and it's a middle aged white woman with an infant in the backseat keeping up with me in the fast lane.... then she hits her brakes and cuts over 4 lanes to exit quick.

I thought to myself.... if I had done something like that in MN.... the middle aged woman that would have been going 55 would have called me in or something. It takes me about 5 minutes to get used to it all... it's just way more fast paced there.

Tauni 08-29-2006 09:35 PM

Re: Moving :(

I deffiantely know what you mean. It's deffiantely a lot crazier driving here, which I'm ok with because I have driving rage. There's a lot of cops though, so it should be interesting to see how well I hold up, haha. The drivers test is bullshit, though.

But here's the update on me. I'm sicker than a dog and it's floating around the office. Mom and I still can't get along, and I can't find a car. Give it a few months... I'm sure I'll be back.

Re: Moving :(

Well... I agree with MIII... see how it goes... you never know it might turn out ok. I know exactly how you feel I did the same exact thing at your age... I moved back down to live with my mom. For me though I didn't have a nice job (I did concrete capping) and missed most of my friends up here, plus I didn't even have a drivers license. I only lasted about 8 months. I say if in 6 months you still don't like it you should move back up here. At least miss the winter up here :) Then again I don't know the details of your circumstance.

Good luck though.

Haha, CS is right, don't come back until the snow melts ;) Sticking it for at least 6 months is probably the best idea though, if you still don't like it then at least you know you gave it a try.

That means you wont get to go on any ski/snowboard trips with us if we do end up going in a big group this year...jk. Hope things turn out better for you, if not then I guess I'll meet you when you come back up :D.

Re: Moving :(

I'll be back. Eventually. It may not be fore like 2years, but it my damn well be in 6 months. I plan on trying to stick out this job a bit. It's so far the best part of being here. The company owner came in and met with me specifically just to tell me how great of a job I've been doing for never having done this type of work before.

And trust me, I don't plan on going anywhere near the damn snow.

SlowV- Well that's cool, it wouldn't suprise me if you met me while I was wasted, but oh well :)

I also don't remember all the girls I've met while I was drunk. So, I guess we did meet after all and didn't know it. By any chance you have a birth mark on your left butt. I'm still trying to figure out who that one girl was. j/k
