lets see a show of hands.

who wants to see jet's snapping turtle in my fish tank!

I am actually working on a video like that right now.
It's going to take me awhile though. I have to wait 2-3 days in between feedings so they can get hungry enough to kill stuff.

so far this is what is on my mind on what to feed them. just small little animals.

baby chicks
baby turtles
mices
baby rabits
frogs
anoles (small lizards)

let me know what else you guys want me to feed them. and it has to be something reasonable and cheap (a big python for example, is too expensive... lol)

No im perfectly fine with real nature survival... but a mouse in a fish tank is not really a real situation heh.

Its cool, you guys do whatever, I just think getting kicks and giggles out of killing stuff isnt quite right. Survival is a different story, but when you do it just for fun and you guys actually enjoy watching it, that to me, is somewhat disturbing.

And no you didnt call me emo, I was just being dumb :)

Its kinda like that story on the news a month or so ago where the kids beat their neighbors puppies to death. Yea thats cool too I guess.

Give them flake fish food and tape it ;) lol

It would be kinda cool to see a fair fight, but 9 pirahnas agains 1 snapping turtle doesnt seem fair to me. Take 8 out and you have something interesting.

Umm... im not single handedly picking on you or anything. so dont think of anything bad.
But thats just how the food chain is. Atleast I didnt kill the mice for other purposes. I fed it to other stuff as food. And the mouse is sold at petco as feeder mices anyways.

By the way, fish flake is made from animals too. So it's still the same in my opinion.

In that case, its gonna die either way. Kinda feel sad for the little fellas though. At first I thought it was sold as a pet mice. Hmm....what else can you throw in there. Damn if I had those pirahnas I would catch some mice around the house (if there are any left) and use them. Throw an alligator (sp?) in it. They have tough skin, but I'm not sure if they'll attack under water. Last I heard, from somewhere a while back, they only attack above water.

An alligator can only swallow below water, that is probably what you were thinking of. Same with the snapping turtle. I watched the video again and my snapping turtle is a fair amount bigger than the pirhana.

Check out www.craigslist.com for some cheap food sources. There are snakes on there all the time for free or cheap, might even find a turtle or something.

naw, try a fuckin gunea pig! Something with some real size. That was like..bit size for those damn fish.

I am partial to turtles, so no turtles in the tank please. Otherwise, I hope jet's turtle fucks your fish up!

Not exactly. When something is above water, it will make more motions and trigger the piranhas sense of feel to vibration and trigger them to attack.

As for turtles, they cant produce any saliva when they eat, so if they attack from surface or the ground, they will always drag it back into water.

Now throw that in the tank! I bet the fish are gonna have a tough time with that one. I caught one about the same size at camp last year. Lil bastard ate my fishes that I caught, so I had to catch it for fun :D. It was pretty damn heavy!

Put in a bunch of other little fish and watch them all go crazy. That way the reds have to at least try a little to catch em. Little fish are cheap too!

He does have little fish in there.

My cousin once feed 2 mice to his south american red tail. Anyways, he spent days cleaning out the hairs from the mice.

to bad I didn't see this earlier
I just had a baby squirrel that I killed because it had fallen out of the tree and the mom hadn't gotten it. That would have been cool

I would like to see either the turtle or a squirrel of something from outside. Get a live trap and make shit interesting!

Re: For those who request "live" mouse =)

Shit I just watched that for the first time WHILE I WAS EATING. While a bit disturbing its pretty cool. And yeah I remember one time I went out and catch this huge ass frog from Jets and my place in Woodbury. The frog was as big as Lue but that didn't stop him, he killed it in about 5 minutes and ate everything by morning. If he was really hungry he would eat it all but if he was full he would leave a bunch in the tank and it was gross.

Now watching him chase goldfish around was the best.
