Re: Another Road Trip
Its a 350Z convertable :D. (I think their two seaters :/ )

It is based off a Z3, but is quite different parts wise and has a wide body kit. We looked at a lot of different cars (boxster S, 350z conv., mazdaspeed miata) and didn't find anything we both agreed on. I loved the MS miata, what a blast to drive! It is like your own personal go-kart. The old lady thought it looked boring. This little M roadster is really nice too. Redline is 7600 on a 3.2 inline 6, pretty impressive. Stock 1/4 mile is supposed to be 13.1@109. |
Re: Another Road Trip
Are they all removable hardtop or is that just an option? |
Re: Another Road Trip
Hard top is an option, this one doesn't have it.
|
Re: Another Road Trip
It's a very nice car and looks like it would be fun to drive.
|
Re: Another Road Trip
Line it up with the EVO.
|
Re: Another Road Trip
Does it look like "The Ambiguously Gay Duo" car or is that just the M Coupe?
|

It would smoke the evo. |
Re: Another Road Trip
It looks exactly like a Z3 because thats what it is. I win ;) Its a Z3 with the M options. Nice job Jet!! 2 Beamers on a dsm site!! haha
I was looking at those and I really wanted the <2001 M coupe but it was just way too much money. 30K for a used one. The M coupe is the one that looks like what Ecoli mentioned haha, but I love how it looks. Plus it only has 2 seats... so thats why I steared clear of the z3/m coupe. http://www.z3roadster.com/ |

Nice ride Jet.
Wow, many "senior members" are moving away from DSM's competely. It seems the majority of "us" just have dsm parts now. Well there is still Hill, lol. |
Re: Another Road Trip
WoW, that looks like one agile/sporty ride man!
Congrats Jet! <Damm, Looks like Everyone is buying a car up here lately? Tired of our DSM's being broke all the time or?> |
Re: Another Road Trip
That is totally a winter car.
|
Re: Another Road Trip
Looks good to me! With 315 hp I bet that little thing really moves, especially with Beemer torque. How much does it weigh?
|
Re: Another Road Trip
It isn't real light, it is about 3,100 lbs. It does have a 50/50 weight distribution though. It can get pretty tail happy with the stability and traction control turned off.
The power never falls off throughout the RPM band, it just keeps steadily climbing. It doesn't have the hit of a turbo though. It wasn't as much fun at first, but now I am getting used to it. |
Re: Another Road Trip
Nice ride Jet. Thank god you picked the '01, and not any older.. first year with the higher HP motor. The older one with 245 just doesn't cut it. BTW, when did you get it? Your didn't happen to run a certain yellow S2K this last weekend did you?

Re: Another Road Trip
yea, and mo's car is one of the VERY few I know in mint condition..no dents, scratches..hell the hatch struts work, the door panels are actually held onto the car, the trim and moldings are not falling off..i'd like to see it driving sometime soon...

Re: Another Road Trip
Thanks everyone!
I still have my DSM, so it is not like I am bailing on them (4 actually!). Mo- That is why I got the 2001, I wanted the 315hp. Only made in 2001 and 2002. I just got it so that wasn't me racing, we picked it up last night. |
Re: Another Road Trip
Those things are sweet! I seen one before at work and I saw the "M" on it and didn't know what the hell it was! That is one kick ass ride!

You got a M Roadster, not the M coupe that I was looking for. Here is the cheapest one I found ($36,900) doing a search on autotrader. It only found 6 M Coupes in the whole US for sale... http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...en&cardist=300 I was only looking at M coupes, not convertibles, thats why I couldnt find one under 30k. The coupe was the stiffest car BMW ever made and is also pretty rare, and I love how it looks. In a few years ill trade the M3 for one ;) |

Re: Another Road Trip
lol no I just love the unique look of the shoe car! Ever since the coupe came out I just thought it looked so sweet. You either hate the coupe or like it... that what people say.
As far as BMW sites go... just for information? or modding and forums? Forums/info: DTMPower.net, e46fanatics, bimmerfest.com, theautobahn.com, bmwsport.net, z3roadster.com, mz3.net Parts/mods: pelicanparts.com, eautoworks.com, turnermotorsports.com, Dinan, activeautowerke.com, bavauto.com Some might not apply to yours but these are the ones I use... Get that on the dyno in July for DB dyno day!! I want to know how much more power you put down than me :) |
