Mara's and Sean's were both stock shortblock small rod 7-bolt motors. Both had cams in the head. Mara had ARPs put in ghetto style, Sean had stock head bolts so we didn't push the boost too far.

SlowWhite 01-13-2004 01:24 PM

didn't know Mara's car was a 7bolt. hahah Rock on.

Guess I'll have to push my car farther now. I was hoping it was going to be somewhat of an Easy task getting the Stock 7bolt Record.

What are ARP's in ghetto style? Pulling the bolts and threading the studs in through the head? Would this work?

Shane@DBPerformance 01-14-2004 12:28 PM

Yea, we did them 1 at a time like that. It took quite a long time longer than I thought it would to do it carefully. We were successful, but I know some people have had problems doing it that way.

john 01-14-2004 11:59 PM

Is it really a bitch when you have to pull the head then?

Keep thread on topic. :headache:

Jacek 02-04-2004 10:09 PM

whats the 19c record? 12.9? :)

Shane@DBPerformance 02-05-2004 11:11 AM

I have never dynoed anyone unfortunate enough to have that turbo on a DSM. :)

Jacek 02-05-2004 01:43 PM

that big of a pos eh?

AJ 02-05-2004 01:58 PM

Frank Jr is a monster man. What you talking bout?

Jemery has a 6 bolt, he has nitrous but it just goes wayyyyyyyyyyyyy rich when he uses it. and makes less power. When he get that fixed he is going to shoot for number 2 on the board.

I don't know about whp on stock 7 bolt bottem end, but I saw a GST go 11.5 with only cams, head studs, and head gasket in the moter.

SlowWhite 03-05-2004 11:36 AM

If I ever get the chance to run my GSX at the track I'm hoping to match that time.

since I only have ARP's and Cams in my motor.

If he's got a wet system, tell him to try a smaller fuel jet.

I wish we had some LOX at the airport. :3gears:

Geez, I just keep getting bumped. Time to put some real numbers behind that power level. :3gears:

16g's can be wicked when used properely.
Such as dual setups, and to hit people with them.
11's on the 16g!! lets see it.

I'd love to see that dual 16G setup on your stealth Josh!

I still need to get that set of 450cc's back to you, as they aren't doing shit for me. on the shelf man

Shane@DBPerformance 04-03-2004 07:29 PM

Updated again...

Dragsourcetsi 05-25-2004 08:45 PM

I know that it doesn't mean much in this thread. Jeremy made 564 whp this year on the green. Now he just has to get back up to MN :bounce:

AJ 05-25-2004 10:43 PM

Yes, you guys need to get back up here!!!

nitrous whats that??

santa 07-21-2004 02:42 AM

ok so mo's car only did 507 on pump or race what boost ???

JET 07-21-2004 08:00 AM

Race gas, but low boost setting. He could almost run that boost on pump gas, but probably not that much timing. He said later he is only going to run 30 psi in the thing, but we'll see :D You should hear a lot more about the car in a few weeks.

SlowWhite 07-21-2004 08:44 AM

Definetely.

I definetely can't wait to see what 30psi will do with his set up. (once he gets tired of that) Maybe we'll see some 32-35psi like Andy and John are running :stick: ......come on you know you want to.... :stick:

Shane@DBPerformance 07-21-2004 01:50 PM

27psi C16 race gas. 27psi is high boost to us.

SlowWhite 07-21-2004 03:02 PM

Don't know where I heard 24psi from but still cool non the less making over 500whp with under 30psi of boost.

JET 07-21-2004 04:10 PM

Huh, Mo told me 23psi creeping to 26psi up top. Shane was probably doing the dyno'ing, so he would know best!

Goat Blower 07-21-2004 05:50 PM

Mo told me the same thing. I call BS on Shane. :stick: ;)

Shane@DBPerformance 07-21-2004 08:49 PM

Isn't 26psi a lot, especially with his 9.5:1 compression ratio? Max power was at the 26-27psi. The car is maxed. We were at 13:1 A/Fs, 32 degrees of timing, VP import race gas($20 a gallon) and the turbo wouldn't make more than 26-27psi. So don't expect any higher numbers than his 507whp ever. Oh yea, that was with a 75 shot of nitrous too.

what's the VP import race gas all about? what octane? 13:1 a/f is nice ha

nitrous wimp ;)

Shane@DBPerformance 07-21-2004 10:02 PM

VP import is better than C16, but costs at least twice as much. I was being sarcastic about Mo's tune though.

Craig Paisley said this about the VP Import on Supra forums...
Quote:

I've seen the VP Import fuel make more than 50 extra horsepower over C-16 in a Supra. If you are really trying to make power than it is worth the extra money. The tune up that you use with the import fuel is drastically different than C-16 and if you smell that you fuel you will have doubts about putting it in your car but it does work. The import fuel is probably the best fuel out there to use. It is outlawed for the Supra engines in the Pro Import class though or we would all be using it, only the 4 cylinders are allowed to use it so we stick with the alcohol.

He also said it smells like kerosene.

Another high HP Supra guy claimed to have gotten 40whp more from the VP Import.

We have seen C16 make more power vs generic 110 on cars here.

Speedfreak 07-22-2004 01:10 PM

to clear things up, i said starting at 23 and creeping to 26-27 ish. but should be a lot better power band when we hit and hold 30 the whole way...

SlowWhite 07-22-2004 01:36 PM

Maybe you and I are having the same problems?

Shane@DBPerformance 07-22-2004 04:01 PM

Possibly. Maybe that turbo likes to spool a little too much.

SlowWhite 07-22-2004 04:21 PM

It's like a mack truck.

Takes a while to get moving and once it does, it's hard to get it to stop. ;)

Shane@DBPerformance 07-25-2004 12:19 AM

I don't know if Brian doesn't want to say anything, but he dynoed the other day and put down some good numbers. Seems like the old turbo might have been part of the problem all along. He made 403whp on pump gas. We only made 2 pulls on race gas, we upped the boost a little bit and on the first pull it made 438whp. Did a little tuning of the fuel and timing at the same boost settings and made 456whp. We stopped at that run, because it is a stock small rod 7-bolt motor and didn't want to push it over the edge. The car is possibly capable of 500whp, but we don't know how much the bottom end can even take. If it hold together, maybe he will want to go for more, if we stay out of knock totally.

john 07-25-2004 12:41 AM

Holy shit, very nice numbers Brian. I am sure he would want us to know anyhow.
