Re: I'm looking for a winter beater, suggestions?
Definitely ditch the SAAB unless you can somehow find a newer one as the older, "beaters," have a vacuum system from hell and are a complete nightmare to work on.

Re: I'm looking for a winter beater, suggestions?
Ditch everything European, their reliability becomes hornedous with age and in your price range you'll find junkers, not beaters. If you go with a Subby, get an AT, I guess their older MT's are prone to breaking.

Re: I'm looking for a winter beater, suggestions?
I tend to disagree with you guys. Any car thats old and wasnt taken care of will crap out.
The only thing with Euro cars is that parts are a tad more. Volvos on the other hand ussually run forever. |
Re: I'm looking for a winter beater, suggestions?
I'm finding nice looking veedubs for cheap. I just might have to turn into a cone dodger for the winter months.
