however, with minnesota's lax emissions laws and general police/dmv ignorance, i'm guessing you wouldn't have much trouble bringing one over and registering it as a different vehicle, even if you were still registering it as an imported RHD car -- just not an r32/33/34 who's crash-testing data was paid for by a company in CA but made not publicly available so no one else can legalize the cars right now. there's a bit of discussion about this going on in the socal list right now because one of the members had his r34 seized and crushed and is suing the now-defunct motorex.

but saying that a RHD skyline is fake because your ricer friends haven't heard about it is pretty absurd.

Yeah, you get the gist of what I am saying. Not everyone with a supra/nsx/3000gt you name your high end import of choice, goes down to uni, and we haven't seen all of them on the road, thats all I am trying to say.

I would be tempted to get a canadian skyline and register it as a maxima, and do a vin plate swap (If I had the money that is) but I would still be worried about the one time I would get pulled over and they would think I was suspicious enough to run a VIN or do a more in depth check, and then my car would be gone, and I would probably be in jail. Not worth it IMO.

Just to note the skyline at Autovations was an R32. Grey in color, and he lived in the cities somewhere.

In North Carolina there was a guy with a white R33 which he said the vin is a 300zx. Still RWD and could be twin turbo. I have heard of people using 240sx vins etc, but this is the only guy I know of that is supposedly doing that. He said he has had no problems with the vin, but of course plenty of problems with getting pulled over.

I saw the R32 last night with my own eyes on Hwy 169 in Plymouth.
