Yeah, I really like Metro. I have been doing mostly online classes lately. You get more older students there, which adds a lot to the classes. They can give you some practical experience, plus all of the instructors have worked in their fields.

I have one semester left at normandale since they messed up my schedule this last spring. I am taking business mgmt and accoubting. I am planning on transfering to metro in the spring and tripple majoring in Accounting, Business Admin. and Finance. I have all the needed transfer credits taken for those majors and plan on tripling because of how they have the core classes set up. All the core classes lead to each degree, so I only need to take an extra semester or so to triple.

Re: Who's graduating from HS or done with College?

I think the REAL problem with societies youth today is that they have no true responsiblity for their actions. Everything has become "someone else's fault" that they don't have to burden themselves with the responibility of what they do. Thus they become clueless and oblivious to the world more then 2 feet away from them.

Now the disclaimer, there are always exceptions to the rule. I just see it more and more each day that the youth don't care what they do or who it affects.

I graduated in december but it kinda sucked cause the weather was so bad and only a few other people graduated w/me. The first week I had off, I went to work but other than that, I didn't do anything other than play perfect dark and sleep 12+ hours a day.

I am graduating from Minnetonka High School, proud to be a Skipper - best moment there was by far the Prep Bowl, Tonka Football took it all on my senior year, knew everyone on the team, and will never forget it.

Re: Who's graduating from HS or done with College?

I think we only think of HS students like we do because the number of students graduating (that have less-than-average intelligence) is outweighing the number of students. For example, the high school I graduated from received a bunch of money for academic excellence. My High school was rated at like the top 2% of publics schools in the nation for something I can't remember about. I believe this was based on the 2000-2003 school years. It just so happens that those were probably the years where the greatest number of geeks/nerds/smartasses graduated(me being one of them ;)). Those graduating classes were quite competetive because for example, the top ten GPA's in my class was based technically on a 4.6ish overall GPA (on a regular weighted scale where weighted classes were worth 5.0 points, then you have your regular classes which counterweight that overall maximum GPA) and I ranked #13 with a 4.4333 which was because of a few B's here and there. The following year's (after my class) top 10 consisted of like 4-5 "straight A" weighted GPAs which ended up pretty much being broken down technically into little things here and there which ended up into the hundreths which got their rankings. Kids like the ones in my class and the following year are quite a rare occurance nowadays at that school. This shows you how over the years, the students have cared less and less about their education, or........... maybe these kids are just unable to understand educational concepts now. I don't remember where I was going with all this, because I've been writing this reply within a 3 hour timespan, so yeah, Bleh. Happy Graduations young'ns.

See, Cher is a perfect example. He ranked #13 in his class and seems to have no knowledge of anything besides Jason Mraz and wheel dish. And what kind of BS is having a GPA over 4.0? Sound like the school was artificially inflating the grades to get federal funding. Especially if Cher had such a high GPA. :)

Re: Who's graduating from HS or done with College?

He meant out of the 12 point scale. ;) Our high school was out of the 12 point scale and I have never heard of the 5 point scale. My schools never gave out A+.

Re: Who's graduating from HS or done with College?

Also, at our school there were many people with a 12.0 gpa so there was no real smartest student. If you got 1 B, you would drop many gpa points. I was in the middle of my class rank (600 students) and I had a B+ average.

Re: Who's graduating from HS or done with College?

See, we didn't have +'s or -'s. It's a pretty fair system if you think about it because it separates the students that are actually taking challanging classes from the ones taking "normal" classes. The AP classes were the weighted classes. My valedictorian got straight A's throughout the years and I just backed off his ass after sophomore year because I didn't wanna become a super geek. He also passed all the AP tests and ended up getting into med school 2 years early. Another thing in my class was there were two students that scored perfects on their ACTs and SATs, so they bumped up our school avg a little bit. The year before and after mine had super high ACT/SAT scores also. School is school. I don't know how someone couldn't graduate high school. You'd have to be: A. very unintelligent B. messed up in the head and skip a bunch of school C. a very slow learner D. All of the above

I believe we had a few students, in my graduating class, at Mounds View HS ... I want to say 6... that scored perfect on their ACT and SAT tests.

I would like to say BS as I believe there were only 2 kids in the state that aced one of the tests. I believe one of them went to mnnetonka and I think it was the SAT. There is a kid who I work with who still lives in HS even though he has graduated.

I graduated Normandale in May getting an AA degree with emphasis in Accounting.

Peter- How many semesters did you take at Normandale?

Re: Who's graduating from HS or done with College?

They keep changing the SAT to try to keep the overall average scores up to make it look like the US education system isn't a mess. You don't have to do perfect on the SAT to get a perfect score either.

Re: Who's graduating from HS or done with College?

IM graduating from rosemount High school with a 2.54 and i scored a 29 on my ACT, this to say, homework is how much you try, and do homework. AP classes are more in a sense like college. Due to having a 70% weighted grade on tests. And like 10% on homework, I really love taking AP classes! HAHA...

LOL. I don't remember which one I took but I got through the reading section, 1/2 way through science and got pretty bored/hungry and it was near noon, so I just said I was done and left. Still scored average too.

I remember how everyone was freaking out over these test, not worth it. I did however freak out/work my butt off for some certification tests some years later though.
