They tend to run way too much timing and blow up. Lowering the compression isn't enough, something to do be done about the timing.

Not even just that I dont see how thats going to fit back into the car. My friends was single turbo'd and that thing barrely fit under the hood also... I'd like to see that finished and in the car.

one more thing... I those welds look like ass on those manifolds... I could weld better with my eyes closed and a tig without any filler rod.... lol

UPDATE, chipped ecu is here, will install tomorrow, then custom downpipe, and its alive...

Did the turbo 3g in St. Paul blow up (blue one)? Any idea what he made for #'s? I thought he was in the 300's with the 16g and SMIC.

I am not exactly sure what car you mean. Was it the one with the built motor? We tried tuning one once with a lower compression built motor, and it would just audibly detonate like crazy.

Yeah, that is the one. He had a built motor, a 16g, SMIC, etc. Almost fooled us last year but the 20g was enough. I talked to him a bit about possibly getting a MSD unit of some kind to retard timing a bit. Wondering if he blew it up or if it was another kid.
