I have the bucshur 3" on the talon and 2.5" on the winter beater. They do have dynomax mufflers. I have never complained about noise in my cars. I am fine with the sound/tone. BTW, thermal catbacks for 2gs do indeed drop down to atleast 2.5" at the cat. Possibly smaller as mentioned above. A local member bought a thermal cat back and a N1 downpipe. He had to sell the DP as it would not fit without cutting and welding.

I had an Apex'1 N1 turbo back on my 1G. It was quiet inside the car, loud outside. Perfect tone, deep and growly. Big piping but it's not stainless. Deffinately paint it with high temp. paint. Very nice.
