I've been running the "preview" version of Firefox for a while and just upgraded to 1.0 last night. Besides those websites which require IE, Firefox is definitely going to be my main web brower.
Good article: http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/11/09/m...fox/index.html |
Firefox rocks, but you should keep EI around incase Firefox won't play a vid. we all know that the point of the interweb is vids.
|
I am DL ing Mozilla 1.7.3 right now, we will see.
|
Don't get just Mozilla... Get Firefox. The official 1.0 release was yesterday.

I am using mozilla, right now, browsing speed seems to stay closer to normal whan downloading VS. IE. |
*shrug*
Mozilla seemed clumsy and bland when I tried it. I quickly installed Firefox instead. |
Ehh, I have all 3 now. I like the "go" button instead of the seach button in mozzila, what ever. I also like how it imported all my IE crap too. Mozzila did, but not the cookies and shit.

I have had a headache free month running firefox. It does everything my IE did and more. No professional web designer codes for just IE. They are a tool if they do. I think the first thing I learned in a very basic html course was to proof your code under multiple browsers for compatibility.
No more pop ups, no more annoying ass spyware. My life is easier now that my roommates run fire fox. No more "my internet is all fucked up..." messages on my phone. Every person I know who knows even two shits about a computer uses some browser other than IE. Its not for the elite, its just for anyone using a computer who is worth a damn... Jim |
well put Jim.

Get the latest version of IE and you won't have any popups. I am not sure if it was SP2 or what, but I now block all popups unless I choose to let them through. My computer at work started doing it a few weeks ago, now I updated my home one and it is doing it too. Yay cattle herders!!
|
SP2 had the pop-up blocker with it but IMHO I still like Firefox better. Firefox is a much cleaner browser.
|
I wouldnt touch SP2 for quite a long time.. Good luck ;)
|
We have had SP2 at work for quite some time and I have had it here now for a few weeks. Not a hiccup! It actually seems to have made the computers a lot more stable.
|
My roomate's computer registry was destroyed thanks to SP2, no way am I touching it. I guess both Dell and Gateway have been flooded with problems since its release. From other people running it and no destroying their computer, they could not get wireless internet to work.
I have been using Firefox for a while now and after some getting used to it is nicer than IE with the exception it won't play some videos that IE will. |
You will just have to make sure you have all the plugins for it to play all the video's Chris. It should play anything IE will.
