This removal of the ban changes nothing. The people buying the stuff legally aren't the ones your democrats need to worry about, its the people who were buying the stuff illegally.
really? seems that the ones i was worried about can now legally buy them. also, people who may not have been able to get one before, now have a much easier way of obtaining one.

I love this quote : "Guns don't kill people, stupid people with guns do."

Its to bad that those same stupid people are able to buy guns. [/b][/quote]
Oh yeah, I forgot, there is no way a double-barrel shotgun or a handgun with 10-round clip could kill anyone. This is just another issue that the media is exploiting to up their ratings. All of my European friends have told me that America is far less-free than the majority of European countries. It is a free country aslong as we each stay in our own little boxes and don't think outside the norm. Oh well, maybe you guys are right in saying more people will die now....at least there will be fewer protesters and "Mother's Against..." groups :bounce:

??? You must not know much about this ex-law.People who legally couldn't buy guns before, still can't buy them now.And how exactly is it easier to get guns now? This was a near pointless law, and really didn't change anything or save any lives. It mearly let you not-so-bright democrats/pussy liberals feel safer, even though you weren't in the least bit.

You still have to pass the same background check you have always had to since 1974. Americans have always been able to buy AR's. The ban has always had nothing to do with being able to buy a rifle, Just customization.

This is the problem I have with the liberal/democrate scare tactics. People don't even know what the law is/covers and they bitch about it.

Whats with all the name calling. Does it make you feel superior? As for the now legalized 19 semiautomatic rifles, I was just wondering how hard it is to modify them to fully automatic?

Just as hard as the million other semi automatics that have been legal the whole time.

remy 09-14-2004 07:32 PM

so not that hard.

LightningGSX 09-14-2004 07:33 PM

Your point is?

1QUICK4 09-14-2004 07:36 PM

Some are harder than others to convert but all full autos are illegal as hell unless they were converted before the '86 amnesty program under President Regan.

A rather favorite quote of mine, "Cher, the only kid to bring a hand grenade to a knife fight."

An AR-15 takes 3 parts to become full auto. The ban affected them by taking away the bayonet lug (how many bayonet stabbings do you see???) and the flash suppressor. Gotta make sure that the flash is hidden more when you are inside McDonalds letting it rip.

It really was a dumb law. Most of the weapons it was trying to ban still came into the country, just in a slightly different form. The law was only a response to a bunch of mass shootings that happened at the time to try and make the public feel safer. It was just a mind game. Nothing REALLY changed with the law except for high capacity magazines went up in price for some guns, you could still get them though.

How would you defend your House? I sleep better knowing that the home alarm is on the dog is running around and the S&W and the 12 gauge are loaded. But than I do live in North Minneapolis.

Same as the permit to carry law.

So deny the right of people who take classes, pass tests, and backround checks, and carry them safely to protect themselves and other innocents, but don't bother worrying about the other customers who carry stolen guns in their wastebands to protect themselves from their rival drug dealers.

THIS is what sounds stupid to me:

why would someone carry a fully auto weapon as protection? that sounds highly rediculous. you have to admit.

also, i think that any of you who would buy one of these previously banned guns probably don't live in an area where you honestly need them. so, why exactly do you want one? is there something you can achieve (as in shooting targets) with an auto that you couldn't with a regular or semi auto gun?
