I was in my senior year of high school just getting out of speech class and heading to government when we first got word of it. I used to be able to remember exactly what was said across the loudspeaker which lead to everyone turning their TVs on but I can't seem to recall now. Maybe Jacek will remember...

I was working at a Boat prop and skag repair shop right next to the St.Cloud airport. Was kinda freaky. And something I will NEVER forget.

I was at school (Kennedy) and in s.s., and what really sucks is my B-day is five days after it so I was like shit. And then the second plane hit, and to say the least I just got sick in the stomach.

At work.

sitting in biology class and teacher came across the hall and said 2 planes just hit the WTC he was a guy that goofed around a lot so we though he was joking but sure enough we turned on the tv and were all in aww... there was no doubt that the whole school was in a silence when we saw what had happened.

I was at home(parents house) and got out of bed to see the after math of the first plain crash, then watched the 2nd one hit, it was crazy.

Re: September 11, 2001
I was sleeping in that morning. My roommate came running downstares and yelled something about "a guy flying a plane into a skyscraper". I was mostly asleep and mumbled, "what movie?". "This is real, it's on the news stations". I pulled myself out of bed and went to watch. I saw the second plane hit. It still hadn't sunk in yet. We waited for a third plane and it never came. We both said that the towers would fall. I left the house and went driving over to my father's work to leave a note on his car telling him what had happened. I had heard on the radio that atleast one of the towers had fallen at that point. Nothing had sunk in yet. One of the 93X guys stoped what he was doing and just paused for a few seconds. He then said; "Jeez, just think about the firefighters. They didn't have a chance." That wasn't scripted. What made it so powerful was that I don't think he even knew he was saying it. It was a real reaction to the papers he was reading. That is when it sunk in. Later at work we were watching the news. It was then that we heard that the officals thought it was Osama Bin Ladin's doing.

Sitting in my dorm room freshman year of college, my grandma called just a few minutes after I had found out about it by reading the news online.

I was working for Best Buy at the time and was at a Convention for new products coming out.
It's weird how everyone remember exactly what they were doing when they saw or heard about this. |
Re: September 11, 2001
i was in my first period watching channel one news. its like a thing we watch in the morning. over the air they broke into a national interuption and said some one had just flown a plane into the traid center. we all thought it was by accident.........but then the second one hit. a kid in my algebra 2 class started freaking out cause jis father lived no more than a block away from the trade centers. but he wasnt there. i guess we all felt it in a different sort of way.
ps. notice how every post starts out with " I was in". i just thought that was kinda funny |
Re: September 11, 2001
First day I was sick, as in didn't go to school in like over a year, happened to be that day, woke up, walked out of my room, mom was watching what I thought was a sci-fi movie, I asked her what the hell she was watching, and she said "the news" thats when I started paying attention to it, just in time to watch the second one hit the towers. No way was this an accident anymore.
