Re: Another C6
Nice! Hopefully someday in the semi near future I can jump on the bandwagon.

Re: Another C6
The 6-speed auto (A6) is a nice transmission, especially once tuned.
|
Re: Another C6
Yes, I'll be hitting you up for recommendations on all of that. Engine tune, TCM tune, throttle input tune. Lots of wizardry in these things.

Well, dealing with the transport company was a pain, but it's in the garage. Wasn't sure about all the details because it was from an auction, but I lucked out and it's a Z51, and it runs perfect. It needs a headlight, fender, door control arm and knuckle and some clean up. Should have it on the road in a week or two, can't wait to see how it drives.

Re: Another C6
Wow nice. That is almost exactly what I'd want too, perfect for wide body conversion!! Nice score man.
|
Re: Another C6
Yeah, especially since it already needs a few body panels anyways. I'm keeping this one pretty stock though as I'm already thinking about a ZO6. :D
|
Re: Another C6
Yea only 1 of 5 (exterior) widebody conversion pieces needs replaced, prob easier to keep stock. Sell for profit later and get that z06! Nice pick up, bet it was a steal at auction.

Re: Another C6
Very nice on it being a Z51! Z06 shocks and swaybars are a direct bolt-on as well, and pretty dang cheap from RockAuto. The navi, HUD, and upgraded armrest are nice little bonuses too. My dad got the 2013 navi update disc for his 2006 and it made a nice improvement vs. the original maps. Looks like V.2016 is out for the C6 now: http://gmnavdisc.navigation.com/prod...en_US/GMNA/USD

It also has the NPP exhaust which I love. I'm guessing they pulled the fuse, because its on straight pipes all the time. I'll have to see what it sounds like outside the garage. It's loud AF inside. |
Re: Another C6
It might also have the mild-to-wild toggle switch hidden somewhere.

Re: Another C6
If you dont see the remote for mild to wild, try the homelink keys on the visor, thats how mine are programmed.
Factory nav is pretty crappy, so is the bose system in mine. lol Debated upgrading but engine sounds are good enough! |
Re: Another C6
Yeah, V8 soundz are intoxicating. Wife is already excited for a ride as well, I don't think she ever wanted to go in the GSX.

Re: Another C6
I've been doing a few things like putting on the back bumper and tail lights, apparently, after the accident, it was gone through at a body shop so all the screws, bolts and tabs were all in the car. That was a real bonus as those stupid things are spendy at the dealer.
Last night I tackled the first fiberglass project. The inner wheel well was damaged and I'm using all OEM parts, but that piece was almost $800 with shipping and required a bunch of extra work, so I'm rebuilding it instead. Most of it was already there, so it's just repairing a few small spots and strengthening some cracks. The new headlight arrived yesterday, so I needed to get this mounting bracket put together. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/IMG_4021.JPGhttp://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/IMG_4029.JPGhttp://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/IMG_4028.JPG |
Re: Another C6
Made some progress over the last few weeks, things are going a little slow with the shoulder surgery but getting back to normal quickly.
Got the knuckle and upper control arm from Suburban Chevy installed and the fender splash shield all fiberglassed so it's ready to drive. Got the title yesterday, got new plates at the DMV and took it for its maiden street voyage today. All I can say is I'm completely hooked! Seat of the pants, it feels just as fast as the GSX ever did but it drives just like a normal stock car. Definitely needs trans tuning though. Found the NPP fuse was pulled, so trying both modes to see which one I like. I'm definitely going to install a Mild2Wild switch, but it's too simple to buy one, I'll just hardwire my own instead. |
