Re: operation redo engine bay
Alright thanks man will keep using that por15 everywere and that color code would be nice
|
Re: operation redo engine bay
Just make sure you follow the por15 directions on top coating. Either spray over it within the top coating window or scuff it up like they say

Update on my project havnt got much done and have been feeling like crap lately just a little taping off for paint went and got some paint matched up and got the strut tower welded in just a little sanding and maybe some bond to cover grind marks and make it smooth hopefully be able to drop the motor in within the next week or so

Re: operation redo engine bay
Looking like fun. Sorry I didn't get back to you on the paint code I been crazy busy at work.
|
Re: operation redo engine bay
Looks good, did you get the other spot you were talking about?
|
Re: operation redo engine bay
Did you have any rust on the backside of that strut tower between it and the firewall?
|
Re: operation redo engine bay
Yea not so much fun i have a little rust on the backside dont know if i should just grind it and prep and paint over it or cut it out because i have no clue how to get to that spot
|
Re: operation redo engine bay
And it no problem dsmreck i went and got some matched so its all good
|
Re: operation redo engine bay
If you can get down to clean and solid metal that would work. Otherwise you'd have to go through the wheel well
|
Re: operation redo engine bay
Lots of good info here :) looks good Man
I'm planning on tackling the same thing soon on my 1gb :) Keep the pics coming and post a pick of the por15 stuff you guys are talking about. |
Re: operation redo engine bay
Cut out any rust you can on the back also. Grind the rest and use the por15 or converters between the two layers. Than make plates if u have to and weld them in place
