Re: Question for dog owners

Definitely laziness.

My old townhouse was a middle unit of three. Myself and the lady to the left of me would just shovel out a section of the yard next to the patio for the dogs to go. The third tenant on the other side of me wouldn't clean up for MONTHS. The smell got so bad during the spring/summer thaw that I could smell it from the either of the two second floor bedrooms that were opposite the back yard.

I eventually had to knock on their door and tell them to get their "sh*t" straight and clean up their dog's mess.

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys. It seems that those with larger yards tend to not clean them up as often, which is understandable to an extent. Those that live in townhouses or smaller divisions seem to pick up more often.

Re: Question for dog owners

i agree with the big dog owners here, i pretty much let it go all winter and deal with it during the spring. We have a dog run thats fenced off that they go so its not getting into the rest of the yard, just sectioned off. But now is the worst being that all the snow has pretty much melted, now the dogs paws need to be wiped each time. and soaked sometimes. so its time to basically shovel the entire dog run. I think this year im going to get rid of all of the grass and replace with some kind of cement or rubberized play surface so that the poo doesnt sink in and make it hard to shovel. then just spray down. or even turf would be good. hell the grass doesnt stay growing there very well due to the piss and crap.

I actually just sent a sample request for some turf samples as i think this is the best idea for our dog run. http://www.turfoutlet.com/ for those with pet areas you should check them out.

That's a really good idea. I hate wandering the yard with a paper grocery bag and a shit shovel when the snow melts.
