What makes you think you need to replace your trans and not just the clutch disk?

If the input shaft or bearings are worn, the vibration has been known to obliterate disks. Also, I am unsure if all my gear ratios are correctly matched between components. At this point, trans is halfway out. I spoke with Clutchnet and they quoted me $510 shipped, for a 2600# or any weight higher (so I'm thinking 2900#) and the 6 puck sprung clutch disk. Yes expensive, but I love a nice clutch.

On a side note I drew up how one simple servo motor and V3 Link could transform a 5 speed into a F1 style transmission and I figured out how to program it too but I'll get to that later when I have it all typed out and drawn.

what pressure plate do you have in there now or is that xtd too?

FWIW I ran an ACT 2900 pressure plate with a clutchnet 6 puck sprung disc. That combo worked great for me, bought the whole setup from MAP

You're putting way too much thought into this. Did it drive funky before it let loose? I would just replace the clutch, put it back together and drive it. Maybe give everything else a quick look, but what makes you think you have these weird issues?

Interesting, good to know, I didn't realize MAP sold clutchnet, thanks.

It didn't drive particularly weird no, but I'm not experienced enough to be sure that things like bearing wear etc. I do plan on just a new disk and reassembly and at this point debating the clutch plate until I need more HP capacity. Right now I'm about max HP on the stock trans but I also don't plan on adding any more power than I have until other priorities are taken care of.

It wasn't something they sold on their site or anything. I called them and told them exactly what I wanted (ACT2900 w/ Clutchnet). They just sourced the parts and got them to me. If you want a similar combo you might not find it on their site, just give them a call.

Okay sounds good I wondered. I'll definitely call them tomorrow morning! Unfortunately the ACT plates are sold out but maybe I can convince them to separate a kit and sell one. Or I'll see if I can buy a competition clutch stage 5 plate.

Re: Clutch explosion

So I am waiting on a call back from MAP. They said they haven't carried any clutchnet nor have they ever been able to get it. I think this is the poor knowledge I get when I don't speak with the senior sales guys there. (There is more to that statement... :nope: ) I digress, I did find out they can get the CC Pressure plates separate from the kits, however they are $280 and not worth it on their own compared to the kit pricing. Also, they apparently are all the same number so therefore all the same # of pressure. Interesting. So they factor the disk material to be their determining factor in the kit's capacity. This gives me confidence in my XTD stage 4 2300# pressure plate if CC uses anything similar. Updates to come. Trans seems 98% fine. :)

Update: I just ordered the clutchnet 6 puck sprung. Woohoo can't wait for a decent disk!

Update: MAP called. Spoke with Oleg as well. Situation handled, parts coming and hopefully sooner than later.

Yep! The pressure plate runs 2700# and the disk, well, you guys know the disk. I look forward to seeing how well it works and I'm sure it's miles ahead of my old setup. I'm saving the XTD plate for another idea later on...

Never heard of anyone running that combo, but good luck with it!
