Thanks for sharing matt, I think some people need reality checks when it comes to stuff like that.
I always wear my seatbelt, and its like fighting a damm war to get my gf to wear one..the night I blasted that deer at 80mph she again put up the 'do I have to?' face when we left the casino, but since I always win (car doesn't move until everyone is buckled up), she had to, good thing to. I am personally glad they are cracking down on buckling up tickets, I wish they'd crack down on the drunk driving as much as they have on the street racing (if they are gonna crack down on stupidity, might as well be across the boad). |
I am also with the not moving unless everyone is buckled up.

I am also with the above to guys. I love my seat belt. It saved me also in a nice accident when a girl was giving me a ride home back in the day and she ran a red light and smashed into someone else. We were going about 45. I would have no face if I didnt wear one that night.
Matt- Thanks for sharing also. |
sorry if this is off topic:
but if a passenger isnt wearing there seatbelt, can you still get a ticket if your the driver and your wearing one? |

I've worn mine ever since two of my friends didn't meet us at the second bar we were going to back in 1991. Turns out they were hit head on by a drunk driver and since neither of them were wearing their seatbelts, both suffered major injuries including a shattered pelvis and leg, many broken bones and severe lacerations. Both said that had they been wearing their seatbelts, they probably would have had minor injuries.
Another story is there was just an accident last fall right in front of our church in Brooklyn Park. A car flipped over and the only person not wearing a seatbelt was thrown out of the window and killed. The other three in the car were just fine. I saw the guy covered in blood shortly before he died. |
