Speedfreak yes a 2 g trans fits in a 1G. But a 1g will not fit in a 2G because 2gs having 3 mounts on the trans and 1gs have the mounts on the block.

Make sense. I don't know what dudes taking about with 2ga and 2Gb yeah the t-cases need to be matching with yrs. But not related at all to your question asked.

Being this car is a 2GB and not a 2GA a tranny swap between generations is a little more difficult. You will for sure need the 2GB transfer case with the 2GB transmission being that they changed the final drive in the trans in 97 and instead of changing the rear end ratio to match they made up the difference by changing the gear ratio in the transfer case. Updated OP with a few more parts and some more pictures. I also sold a few things, so I removed those. Don't be afraid to make offers. Some people have and ended up getting good deals. I just want this stuff gone!

I decided to part out the long block. See the OP. The shortblock isn't for sale yet until I pull it out and make sure it looks good. The deck looks good, no cracks but that doesn't tell much of the story.

So you just want the head with the valve springs installed? I could probably do that. All I know is it's been ported, polished and gasket matched... I'm in the dark as to the details of the port job otherwise.
