Re: Troy's Evo
Well, now that the dyno day is over, I can reveal some info :P
When I sent my turbo back, I talked to PTE about the upgrade to the 6466. We worked out a darn good deal so I went for it. I figured me and Ron could get actual, back to back testing on the same set up between these two amazing turbos. Keep in mind my set up is still very mild with my Kelford 272's, 9.0:1 Compression 2.0l, Stock Intake Manifold, Stock Throttle Body, and no port work on the head. Here's one of the graphs from Ron: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7102/7...cfcc22bc_b.jpg The solid line, to our surprise is the 6466! It actually outspooled the 6266. Ron thought they actually sent the wrong turbo back since it spooled almost the same, but really didn't make more power per psi of boost like we both thought a bigger turbo should. Now this could be due to my particular set up, I'm not sure if the Recirculated o2 housing is causing back pressure issues or what. Frankly at this point I don't really care to keep spending money to find what it is. I'm so so happy with the power it has made thus far, and like Ron said when I had my 6266, you dont know you have a good set up until you change the setup somehow. If I had to recommend a turbo to anybody, it would still be the 6266 if you were to copy my setup. I'm sure with removing some restrictions I can get the turbo to do what it should. But to me the 6266 performed just as good as the 6466 for my setup. If I would've had the 2150's I could've pushed the 6266 harder to have a better comparison. On to the Dyno Day graphs: Uncorrected at DB: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8010/7...3c320225_b.jpg And shootout: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5338/7...b2db4425_b.jpg Once again, I can't thank Ron enough for the work he has put in on my car. He was busy as heck these past 2 weeks and somehow still made it happen. Once we get the minimum IPW issue fixed with the 2150's on the stock ecu this car will be perfect for me! |
Re: Troy's Evo
Nice setup and awesome turbo! 6466 is no joke and nice to se you are making good power on a lot of stock parts too!

That is awesome. Nice work.

Re: Troy's Evo
Wow, solid power, 653 at DB uncorrected is crazy fast!

Damn that is some good power. That torque curve needs some loving though.

Re: Troy's Evo
Do you have a dyno graph that shows the 6466 vs 6266 at 35psi so we can actually see what the difference is?

Power was 613whp on the dotted one (6266) and 597whp on the solid (6466) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8022/6...c80bfb1b_b.jpg |

Re: Troy's Evo
Made it to BIR today, god I need to learn how to drive this thing. It did not want to shift at 9k though haha. You can also hear the LICP blow off as I crossed the line. With some more seat time, this should EASILY be a 140+mph car!

Re: Troy's Evo
140+ and very low 10s, 9s on slicks!
|
Re: Troy's Evo
Looked like a bit of spinning too :)
You'll figure it out! Keep at it man. |

Re: Troy's Evo
You need to get a brace on that LICP boy!
Nice work man, that's an epic mph! |
Re: Troy's Evo
Nice, looks like traction there still sucks bad.
That truck looks fast as hell he had you till about the 1/8!!! I bet on a non street tire night that might of been faster with no other changes. |
Re: Troy's Evo
11.4@135 huh? Brings back old times (heavier car, same result/issues on a street tire car). Best of luck next time out!
