Re: after 10 years its coming back to life
I pretty sure they did the swap
all I know the x-brace was cut out so the body was flexing with the top frame out. holes were cut in the car for the gas tank and for the rear end and the gas take holes were welded shut. the metal that was tryed to used as a patch for the rear end was welded very bad and burned through all over the place. pics I took before Mike picked up the shell http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...915_184711.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...915_184719.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...915_184730.jpg did not take one of the damage on the drivers 1/4 panel. It was bad the body work was bad holes drilled in the sheet metal and pulled out that way and jut filled with bondo. the bondo started at the back of the door and went to the rear bumper and was thick. pretty sure that is why it was totaled out not a for a theft recovery |

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life
the rest of the grey parts showed up yesterday.
the home link visors will recover them in a darker grey http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...021_152817.jpg top panel and a-pillers http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...021_152838.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...021_152857.jpg also got the carpet just needs a real good cleaning http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...021_152902.jpg |
Re: after 10 years its coming back to life
Got 1/2 a yard of headliner fabric so I could redo the visors.
1st took the old fabric off the visors http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...024_153913.jpg Used a body saw to cut the visors so they could be opened all the way up http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...024_155253.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...024_155248.jpg Using 3m 74 spray glue for headliners and fabric. Glued 1/2 at a time since I don't have any more clipse to do it all at one time. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...024_214812.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...024_221551.jpg The drivers side it done. Used 5min epoxi to glue the visor back together as one piece http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...024_214800.jpg |

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life
Looks good! I liked the pictures of taking apart the visors, I never knew how people did that.
Kinda wish I had that fmic back haha |
Re: after 10 years its coming back to life
Every one I seen just prys the visors apart and they end up braking. Used one from the talon to start with to see the easyest way to take them apart.

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life
been working on it the last 2 days. Pulled the engine out of the corner. Pulled the valve cover to swap in the FP2 cams and one of the cam cap bolts pulled all the threads with it :( was not happy since it was the cnc ported head that is now junk and is all taken apart for scrap now. Luck I had one good 2g head that will be going on the engine now since that is what I had laying around.
so today I got the short block, tranny,t.c,and axles, and down pipe in the car http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...105_175311.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...105_175303.jpg also took the turbo apart to cut out the flapper since I will be running a tial 38 gate http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...105_173456.jpg cut the flapper arm off flush and put it back in and welded it back on http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...105_173503.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...105_173510.jpg all back together out http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...105_175248.jpg |
Re: after 10 years its coming back to life
