I didn't have that problem and I'm a Texan too. ;)

Well technically I'm all messed up as I'm a Texan that was raised Mexican (can't wait to see how this conversation ends up going, lol).

There's a Mexican race car driver that teaches at the BIR Performance school. A friendly guy.

I don't really thing of racing when I think of Mexico. It's more beaches and tequila. :D

Mexico puts on a damn good rally in Guanajuato every year for WRC. Our driving and cars may suck, but we have one damn good rally. :)

Welcome. Your car is definitely a sleeper-- as much of a sleeper as an Evo can be, anyway.

Re: Evo owner new to style

Great progress yesterday! I worked Andrew like a slave :D Pieces of block all over the place and three holes punched through the oil pan.

Removed undertray, drain what little engine oil and coolant remained, removed intake and IC piping, removed the battery and tray, removed the engine harness, removed the fuel rail and associated components, disconnected a bunch of vacuum lines, removed subframe cross members and front engine mount, etc.

I think another few hours of prep work and the longblock will be ready to pull. The next steps will be to remove the front axles and unbolt the transfer case.

Andrew - start a project thread!

Quick pic I took yesterday, this is how we left the top-side of the engine before focusing on underneath:
