Re: dsm link hp record?
You could. I wouldn't, but if you are building a max effort car, then you do whatever. Too many people try to copy drag style 1 hit tunes, air fuels, boost levels, etc on street cars and end up with boom. The shit you can do with a true drag only or standing mile car that is gone over every pass, fuel quality monitored, tune monitored all the time, etc is different than what you would do on a street car that fills up at whatever gas station and needs to run in changing weather conditions. And I don't know how many videos and posts I have seen of DSMs and Evos on the interwebz where they said it was on E85(because people have heard of it), when I know that the car is really on E98 or a Mix of E98 and C16.

Re: dsm link hp record?
^You raise a good point.
While a lot of these dudes start as hobbyist's at the mile stuff, these guys aren't noobs and the assumption they are just taking their old 5-600whp cars and then building sick top end power mobiles for the mile is a little off, the monitoring equip in these cars would be retarded for a track car, that LSR/Mile 1G i went to the mile with was on an extreme budget but all the money was in teh Racepack, each cyl was logged/monitored for everything. |
