Cool, why not a Dsm motor. Isn there more support/power to be had. I was thinking about one of these. Just passed a mint one on the hwy the other day.

Hey Mike, You should break that downpipe down even more and put a v-band right around that flex section, so when you need to pull the trans/t-case, you don't need to take the whole exhaust off, but just the section just before the t-case where you put the vband or 2-bolt flange.

Just to be different, my goals for this car isn't for outrageous power or anything
just a fun street truck, the newer ones had the 4g63 and 64s in them so if it had been that,i may have just done a doch turbo swap, I liked the 79-86 body style so that's what i looked for,
horse power goals are around 400hp for it so in a light 2wd truck like this its going to have traction issues already (with the stock 105 crank Hp it had that already,

That is a pretty go idea, but there is just no room on the car. there is literally mm/cm between the exhaust and oil pan/tcase

Mini-truckin yo! looks like a pretty sweet project, but I'd still throw a 4g6x in it.

Mike, now isn't there any room? I have a 2-bolt flange on mine and it fits just fine! 3" exhaust through and through, no clearance issues. I'd think with a V-band it would allow for even more clearance.

I think you should do a billet wheel, e-cover, .63 hotside ball bearing turbo with TBI. it would have "unce" as they say downtown.
