Re: Exhaust cutout/Exhaust Gas education please.

I'm running a QTEC 3" cutout with a custom myself made downpipe that attaches to the stock catback. I have mine setup when the cutout it open it points straight back. Then with the Y side of the exhaust adapter pipe I got from the kit it points back into the stock exhaust.

Quiet all the time until you open it up. Which was exactly what I was looking for.

It takes about 5 seconds for the cutout to open and close 100%, so I just hold the switch for about 5-6 seconds, then maybe give it a quick flip or two to give me peace of mind.

I'm running the QTP and although it needs power to operate, it does not need power to stay at the current angle which was set. Not sure about others.

Also, the way it's designed which is just a bunch of small gears overlapping each other attached to a small electric motor, once you have it set at a certain angle if you try to move the plate by hand it will not budge.

Well, how would that work? I have a on/off switch, much liek a light switch, but i guess I'm lost on how it'd wire up.

Normal wiring on the cutout is simple if that's what you're asking.

3 wires on it (QTP speaking)
-power
-ground
-switch

I have my cutout right next to my rear passenger tire, all i need to do is put a shield so i stop melting my tires....at least I have better traction on one side of the car :)

having the cutout as far back as possible is nice because it will be quieter in the cab.
