Just like how a lot of people are voting for Obama for the sole fact that he is not white. Why do you think Palin was chosen? ;)

Personally, it's impossible for me to understand where every candidate stands on every subject. There's so many subjects, and so much bullshit and lies, it's hard. So I think I will base my decision on subjects I that I have some knowledge in, and affect me.

The bigger ones for me are energy, military, and health care. I don't know a lot about economics and all that jazz, so I have no clue who's plan is better. They each claim there's is better, but I can't decifer between the truth and lies, because I just don't know enough about it to know. But I do feel that one of the candidates has similar views as I do when it comes to military (because he was in it), energy, and health care (no thanks to government ran medical). So I think I've made up my mind.

I'm excited to see how this election turns out though!!

I think it'll be a lot closer than most polls are predicting.

Hands down they are both douche bags, I just want this shit over with so I can stop hearing about it and continue to watch the country go into recession.

Each person is saying different things are going to happen if they get into office. Well, I'll believe it when I see it.

Glad to see you're informed about what is important to you. Obama's state-run healthcare is a disaster in the making. Ask Canadians how their "free" health care is. Have a cough that won't go away? Make an appointment a year down the road and get in line. Obama is a socialist in the making, but no one wants to believe it. Think socialism is okay? Look at communist Russia, modern China and North Korea and see how fun that looks.

Looks like China is actually headed towards capitalism, sadly we might be taking their place towards socialism if the annointed one gets elected. "Spread the wealth", or better, "Spread the taxes to everyone"

I don't know what to believe anymore...I don't like either of them..I guess I should write a list and see which has more of what I would like to see happen...I don't wanna be an uneducated voter but I am tired of people shoving crap down my throat and people telling me who is right and who is wrong. Its going to be tough for me.

I know what you mean, but I tell it like it is. I'm not voting for either of the big dogs so my opinion is worth very little to most people.

yea and I used to say the voting for other parties is throwing your vote away but my opinion has sense changed....I think the whole throwing your vote away doesn't apply if you equally hate the front runners.I look at it this way if you think about it the dems or rebups are going to win either way weather I vote from them or not.. so I might as well voice my opinion and go third party..every vote counts for them whether they even have a chance to win or not. Not that I am voting third party thats a general statement I am still undecided.

Re: Syncronized Presidential Debating

With so much BS and lies out there, I tend to compare the candidates on issues I think they can *actually* pass through congress and what policies/plans they could actually make happen.

A majority of the crap they claim they will do is very unlikely. And taxes will go up with either party. It is just simple math. With our world economy the way it is I am confused how socialism sounds better than capitalism.

So fun not this will be.

i dont see how i could be removed from the stereotype considering i am in the age group? im simply stating my age group is primarily dumb, and vote for celebrity over candidate. hard to understand?

im definitly not flipping a coin, im sure my 102% A+ in AP Government means nothing, and the fact i might be going to college for government related things. I certinly didnt do any research on the candidates, their history, and what they have/have not voted for, etc etc. im definitly going to go into the voting booth and flip a coin. yep. thats the plan. wtf?

comments like what? i said i was out of the fucking thread not out of voting, mainly because whenever politics are discussed on a board some douche bag will always read something different then how it is said. then people get all dick-swinging at one another.

and when did i say i was voting because someone told me to? please quote me on that somewhere. im voting because i do care, i just dont care to discuss politics on this board because im friends with alot of democrats, and republicans.

and im being ignorent how!? you should probably start reading post's twice before you comment back.

I consider myself a moderate Democrat. For me, the economy and Iraq are the big issues for me. Since Bush has pretty much driven us into a huge hole, I'm voting for Obama.

Spending $10 billion in Iraq every month is just retarded. We need to get the national debt down to something reasonable.

later,
Curt

The last two years the dem's have controlled the purse strings, you know, CONGRESS? The president has control over a veto, thats it folks.

Does anyone in class know which party started the "everyone in America needs a home" drive, where it didn't matter if you couldn't get a car loan, you'd get a house...

Which party rep has received the most backing from said government program?

The problem is the republicans also went along with it, as it was the popular thing to do, so they aren't much better.

My important views are the economy, healthcare, and military. For me, there is only one clear choise, unless I am hoping for change like Pete mentioned.

And I make way under 250k/year :). I know how taxes work, how trickle down works, and how much in taxes the upper class actually pays. Plus I know that businesses pass on taxes to consumers, and since most companies I buy from make over 250k/year, I dont want to see my cost of living go up yet again.

Re: Syncronized Presidential Debating

the people who are voting for their candidate going off of the economic policy, keep in mind that McCrakin' will cut the hell out of government spending, and cut taxeson every level, and also give out stimulous pakages. whereas Obama belives in spending MORE from government funds, and raising takes.

i agree, our government needs to cut spending a ton, so i wont be voting for obama.
