Welcome to the Dark Side, You'll never go back. E-85 was the best Mod that I ever did to my car. It made it as fast as I always thought it should be.

I was glad to hear McCaine mention elimanating the tariff on Brazilian Sugar cane based Ethanol durring the debate tonight.

I've noticed HUGE inconsistencies with e85. One day I'll be 10:1, the next fillup I'll be 11:1 with zero changes. I think I just get bad e85 sometimes.

With a change like that from 10:1 to 11:1, what are the noticed changes other than A/F ratio? poorer performance? what if you were to get a "bad batch" or some super low percentage winter blend, and then drove it as normal, flooring it while leaving the settings the same, is there a good chance you will toast your motor or anything? Or is there a decent saftey margin since e-85 has all that good knock resistance and high octane?

Re: Filled the tank of the evo last night for $25!!!

I think there is a decent safety margin, but one time mine would get super rich and sputter at WOT. At first I thought it was plugs or wires, but I refilled the tank after it was mostly empty and the problem went away and went back to my previous AFR of around 11.

On another note, regular is $1.62 here, while E85 remains at $1.55, not much savings, but I completely filled the tank from nearly empty for like $20, it was glorious.

im about ready to get a 500 gallon tank and get it filled from a different city.

Re: Filled the tank of the evo last night for $25!!!

500 gallons will weigh in something over 3000 lbs. That's a lot of liquid to be sloshing about during transport.

And I'm pretty sure that for anything over 30 gallons you need to register the tank with the state who in turn will notify the local FD as well as pop up on home insurance company lists. If you have any farmer friends who store gas and/or diesel on their farms, ask them about permitting and insurance.

What the hell is with these low prices? Everywhere in Iowa I've seen 1.55-1.60, and here in downtown it's like 2.09, redonk. Maybe I'll fillup when I'm down in bloomington tonight.
