Also for the 10k, i think this guy would want some quality work done it sounds like.
Good luck.

Wow, I take it someone doesn't much like Mark or his EvoIII.

Yeah my cousin plan to make it the best that's why he has that 10k for just that. I'll talk to him for further information on what he wants to be done. Now really sure to throw it at what shop yet or who to do it.

I think it's better to just buy an evo and call it a day. I know the swap is unique but maintence and other shit that might happen after couple of years isn't worth it in my opinion.

No way, mark is an awesome guy, i don't think you have ever heard any complaints about that guy from anyone.
His evo is sweet, i really want to drive it, its a huge sleeper if you ask me.

I apologize, my original statement seems to be mistaken from what i meant.

Good luck to the guy trying to do this swap.

Just for kicks here's someones project, evo motor in a 420a shell:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=739086

The motor is in the car but how long do you think it will be held up by the terrible fab work on the motor mounts? Some people have money to waste and thats their own prerogative i guess.

Re: Evolution IX Swap

It's a headache but its been done before. The reason its not done on 2G are the motor mounts. There are ways but it will not hold on as how the Evolutions are. The motor alone plus ECU + wirings costs as much as a 2G NA. Converting it to an AWD also costs another 5,000. Pretty much its $10,000+ in parts/accessories. If he wants power, build NA motor turbo charge it bottom up, $10,000 easily done creating a monster. But tell your cousin to buy an Evolution.

I think it would be easier (and possibly cheaper now) to swap the evo engine and AWD into a 3g eclipse. This has been done before and they do make convertable 3g out there. I think they used a 2g rear end.

puts the 3g eclipse to use
