Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
They sould be a solid little coupe. The Genisis sedan should be on our lots very soon (V6 model). They have been trying to shoehorn the 8cyl in the coupe but it looks like a no-go.
Hopefully they'll have one on hand when I head back to the Illinois training facility. P.S. the sedan is one smooth motherfucker, lets just hope they dont have the same chain tensioner problems that the 3.3 and some 3.8 in the FWD platform have. |
Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
It looks like Korea is getting the V8 in the sedan, aren't they? It just got released over there. The coupe is what I am really interested in though. I could jump on the aftermarket parts for that :D

The Hyundai guys will not say that there isn't going to be a supercharged V6 in it, so that may be in the future. That would be a ton of fun.

http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/11...cooped-in.html
2.0 Liter Turbo will have 215HP 217TRQ. Price starting at $19,900. 3.8 Liter V6 will have 300HP and 280 TRQ. Price starting at $25,900. Features: Unknown if optional or included w/ pricing... Ipod integration in center console. Bluetooth w/ stock head deck. Sunroof. Limited slip. Marketing will tell if it: MIGHT have Brembo brake upgrades. MIGHT have its own badge. (Tuscani for example) It keeps the LED turn signals on the side mirrors. Also: 2.0 turbo with GT30R with stock internal pushing 362 whp with 0.7 bar of boost....some tuning firm out of korea...2wd dynojet numbers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_UN0cvXr7g The thing looks kinda sexy actually: http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...0/S73F0888.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...0/S73F0889.jpg |

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Reminds me of G35/37 coupe, I'm liking it.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
3.8L+MIVEC+turbo's = less traction than a Supra!
Sure the 2.0 turbo will be easier to mod, up to the point of what the stock engine can handle (how are the 4B11T's doing in the X's?) after that the 3.8 MIGHT be a decent way to go. |
Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Wow, at that price point it will sell like crazy.
It saddens me to think of how many douchebag kids im going to see bov-ing around town in these otherwise cool cars. Much like the srt4 phenomenon |
Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Yeah, those cost $19.9k until the dealers realize what a hot item they have and jack the price up to $25k for a base model.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
I saw a couple at SEMA.. I like it. It's a lot of car for the $. They are RWD correct? If so, 5 or 6spd/RWD/2.0 turbo/low price point = great recipe.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Sound a lot like the new AE86 that Toyota is rumored to have with a subaru turbo platform, somewhat likely to be the EJ20T and also rumored to cost well under $20k.
