This whole discussion is irrelivant, because everyone's deffinition of what's valuable is going to be different. Plus I like being an ass. I fold

Re: you winter beater pics
The great thing about America is that each of us gets to decide what to do with our money. Mark, myself, and many others have chosen to drive our nice cars through the winter. I bought the Evo for 1 main reason: to have a fast, fun car to drive every single day during the entire year. I got tired of putting a car into storage and having an asset of mine sit idle for half the year just so it can stay clean. Everyone is free to do what they please with their own car; there is no right or wrong decision.

Re: you winter beater pics
It looks kinda like this, I don't care enough to take pics.
http://www.rpmmotorsportstulsa.com/i...GrandAmGT1.jpg I might drive the 92 TT after I get it running again. But between the lower fuel economy and higher gas prices, maybe not. Might have to try and fix the fuel economy, I think the O2 sensors are dead. |
Re: you winter beater pics
Sweet! You found a bike, Nash? It looks nice, I love the color combo.

Re: you winter beater pics
Since the crank pulley on my evo broke and I'm waiting another day or so for a new timing belt pulley, I have been zipping around in Anna's GLI: less than half the horsepower of my evo, but still two turbocharged liters and twin-clutch, paddle-shifting FWD fun in the snow!
http://www.scheides.com/albums/gli/IMG_0039.sized.jpg This car makes me look forward to some of the amenities the EvoX MR will have to offer. |
Re: you winter beater pics
I love the new VW's they're coming out with. The Jetta and the Golf especially look really good.
|
Re: you winter beater pics
They really are great cars; the GLI and GTI are the way to go though.

Re: you winter beater pics
We saw a Porsche at Porky's. Not just saw it but he was doing the same as us, went through the drive through I think though.
Like Chris said though, whether or not you park your car for the winter is up to you, it'll probably cost money to store it, or you can spend that money on car washes or wash it in an indoor garage if you are lucky and get the use out of it. It's all up to you. I wanted to park my Eclipse but then I thought about it some more and realized the money I spent on a beater, 500-1000 bucks would probably just be a waste and could have been money in the bank or put into the car in mods. It's just an Eclipse after all, no matter how awesome I think it is. |

Re: you winter beater pics
I'm driving my gsx all winter :) Like Tim said, there was a guy driving a porsche when we met up at Porky's a couple weeks ago. I don't see a problem with driving a car you love to drive all year long.
