I've seen these commercials from a few companies, saying something like "when the world is ready". Wonder how long it'll be before you can actually buy them, another 10 years?

Smokey Yunick had a water vapor motor in the 60's but the big 3 made sure it wouldn't see the light of day in a production vehicle.

If companies wanted something besides petrol burning cars to sell they would already be making them.

Wow, it's two weeks later and the sky hasn't fallen yet. And to think gas prices have actually gone down since last week. Chicken Little must get all his world news and politics from MTV.

Our country is fucked up and everyone is so concerned about their own well being that no one will do anything.
Diplomacy work sometimes. But our leaders don't care.

We concentrate so much on individual issues that we don't look at the big picture and realize how fucked up this country is. Exactly what our media and government aim for.

You could argue all you want that the media is for the people, and so is the government. But I'll just call you an idiot.

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."
Honestly, it's true.

Let's start a riot

He lives in Cali. That's all that needs to be said.

Holy crap! I didn't think anyone here would know about the subject. Smokey also had a pair of 3 cyl. reverse turbo engines. They were good for 45mpg and made 300hp. I might be off with that mileage but I know they were 300hp. There were also evaporative carbs that can make a full size Cadillac get 75mpg. The evaporative carb had been in use since the 1920s. Every time someone goes to patent something on the subject, Exxon or one of the others buys it and locks it away.

Is that the guy that made the Fiero that used exhaust gas to warm up the fuel before going into the carbs? I heard that thing got 50-60 mpg too.

Uh oh, now we are going to see a jump in oil prices!! The pipeline coming from Canada just burst into flames and will likely be down at least 3 days. It brings in 20% of the crude to the US and basically all of it to the midwest. It blew in clearwater county MN. Go fill up your cars quick before the prices jump!

Yeah, but there's no great demand right now and worldwide oil prices have been dropping significantly. I can't see that this will make much of a dent.
