Kinda OT, but where do you get Porting Bits. I tried looking online all i came up with is that it should be an aluminum Carbide bit of some sort. Where should i look?
Thanks

I went there, they have bits, but it seems like the bits i find only last 5 minutes before the burrs are completly shot. maybe im buying the wrong ones. any suggestions?

I bought a $5 set of bits in the air-tools section at HD. Ate through 2.5 of them porting out my turbine housing. Not the best, but they got the job done and they were cheap!

There is a place on Uni that sells porting bits but I can't remember the fuck'n name.

Maybe swanny with chime in? They are pretty close to MAS, just on the other side of the street I think.

It wasnt Ax Man was it?

I got mine from carbidebur.com. They are pretty decent so far, I think I spent $15-$20 on two burs, but they were worth it IMO. The aluminum one is still going strong, but porting aluminum is like melting butter with a heat gun. The iron one is still holding strong though, after a pretty rigorous workout on my o2 sensor housing, manifold, and hot side. Shipping was pretty decent too, I think I had them 8-10 days after order.

Harbor freight is right down the street from my house. Their burrs are even worse. I went once around the manifold and the burrs were totally gone.

Does anyone have a boost leak tester that'll work with the 4" inlet on my turbo? I think I have a couple leaks to track down.

I have a 3" one and I'm 99% sure I have a 3" to 4" adapter that will work, and a boost leak tester to boot!

No, I'm talking about that sotre on Uni, the one we bought the oval bits from, and the pink triangle looking bits. It's a storefront right on uni and they had lots of weird misc shit.

Sounds like Ax Man, AJ. I know there is one down there somewhere and *he who shall not be named* loved to go there.

I have a 4" boost leak tester. When they get to 4" the tire valve doesn't like to stay in it too well, you have to hold it a bit. It works though.

Anyone doing anything Friday night? Maybe I will get my trailer back and bring the talon down if the bolts come this week yet (which they should). I know my spacer just came in.

I'll be around Friday, I'll help ya tear into it if you want :D I don't have much for air tools though, just the basics and a wee little compressor. I'm game though if you want to tear into it!

Sweet, I can bring all the tools, I just don't have a garage spot right now. I was going to do it in the driveway but it got cold damn quick! I still don't have the bolts though, so unless they come tomorrow I won't be able to do it. I just called and it is being drop shipped from ARP, he is going to call back with tracking info.

I just got the tracking number, they didn't ship the damn things out until yesterday. I won't have them until the 16th. Bastards!!

I'll try to stop by friday night, I wanna do a boost leak test, and check my base timing. Other than that, my car is good to go.
