when you are downshifting you can always push the stick over to the right or left when in netural cause if it moves both ways then your in 4th if it only will move right your in 2nd. Just a suggestion but like I said I don't know how to drive one so don't take me to serious.

That would work, or you could just shift it into neutral, and let it sit dead center for a second so you know absolutely where it is, then move it to the appropriate gear.
After a while you get a feel for it and just know where the stick is and what gear its in, and you get to know what RPM's go with what speed in the gears. |
