I would not want to deal with nitro methane, I was trying to walk threw the pits of top fuel and just warming up the car you could not breath or see anything.

Stepanie Eggums runs E98 in the NHRA Hot Rod Class? First FWD Honda in the 7's...

its too bad they dont sell E85 in a 85% ethanol, 15% C16 formula :bling:

Re: The MAPerformance 4g64 Powered FD RX7 Project Overview

Well, E98 is blended with Race gas, so the 2 percent gas is 110 octane.

The only reason they seem to dilute it is so idiots don't drink it.

I do believe that testing has been done, and E85/C16 mix didn't seem to work too well.

It is on the dyno right now.

We are only going to get it dialed in on WG pressure for tonight.

so when is the kit swap kit comming out? lol

Very nice! I can't wait to see what this thing does. Are you backhalfing the car? What suspention/rearend are you going with?

Thats funny about the miata... though that would also be fun!

where did you guys manage to find that car with a blown motor?

No backhalf as of yet. Probably solid axle Ford 9" or similar and 4 link setup unless we can figure out a way to maintain the rx7 suspension.

Just curious, but is there a reason you cut out the front half of the wheel wells under the hood? I noticed it yesterday at the Cookout, and couldn't really find a reason for it just by looking at it. Other than the maybe, 5 pounds you shaved out.

That is factory actually, there were plastic shrouds there that we had removed.

E98 is good stuff. No knock, relatively cheap and smells good to boot. Tough to start the car when it's raining or humid outside though.

is that because ethanol is hygroscopic?

I don't think that's it necessarily, that seems to be more of a concern for storage. I don't think it happens that quickly. I put in a few gallons of regular gas to richen it up a bit since my laptop wouldn't connect and it fixed it immediately.

Correct. We ran into a small torque converter issue, but look for some numbers as soon as we get it back!
