Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
Negative. Ask GoatBlower on that one.
Just kiddin', Steve's got my little stocker rebuild 6bolt. I still have a few things to get on it and I'm hoping for mid 300whp's. I don't know what to expect on it though. Guess I'm trying e85 out of 850's w/DSMLink on the 18G/FMIC. I'll for sure bring it down to the TC area and get it Dyno'd when its together. |

tell us how it is when you get it installed dude! im also plannning to get this turbo next year with some 272's! |
Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
It's mounted on my FP Race Manifold right now, looks pretty decent. Maybe I'll get some pics up soon here.
I am hoping to get some cams to run with it as well, probably some FP2's for the sake of not being a total parts-whore. I like to keep with one manufacturer and FP seems to do some pretty damn nice work! (And yes, I know about the comp cams/FP cams. ;) Right now I'm just waiting on my short block to get here and a few other things, like FMIC, Fuel Lab AFPR, and then I need to bring it down to a shop and have them resurface the head for the Cometic, etc... and get it dyno-tuned. As for the looks of the turbo, it isn't that much, if at all, bigger than my 14b.. I don't know if I'm going to regret going with this turbo or not. I figured I'd start small and learn to tune w/ dsmlink and move up to a 50trim+. |
Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
when you do decide to move up, I would suggest bypassing the 50 trim all together since you would be doing yourself a favor and saving money by purchasing the spender, larger turbo at the time of the 50

Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
^Yeah. I am not sure on which I would go with. That's next fall's project. I want to stick with e85, so that's already money for 1600's, fuel pump/s, etc...
And a built block... I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of Ball Bearing and bigger than my head. |
Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
j/w if you got any pics up yet of the 18g. :) :) :)

Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
Brownman going back to an OEM turbo?! Awesome man! Any chance for some cams in the mix as well?

Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
Bad news, apparantly they dont take AMEX, so i will probably just sit tight on this turbo.
I have 272s on the way. If i ever have problems with this turbo i will not be holding my breath to go to a 20G or 18g mitsu turbo. I wish there was a advance to career card in life like the advance to go card in monopoly. |
Re: FP's NEW 18G-6SL2 Turbo
There is, it's a book called the Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. Buy it, or listen to his podcast.
