do you run ur logger everytime you drive

Re: No start
I got the chance to look at a few things today. I replaced the coolant temp sensor, checked the cam timing, and that was perfect, re-checked the ignition timing, and that was perfect. When I first tried starting it after relacing the coolant temp sensor, it fired a few times, but not enough to start. After that, it didnt fire at all. I messed with the settings on my translator box, but to no avail. I tried both the stock, and chipped eprom ecu, adjusting the translator box accordingly, but still no start. One thing I noticed, is that after the first time I tried starting it, I could smell fuel right away, so could that possibly mean it's somehow getting way too much fuel? Is there anything besides the ecu that controls the injectors?

Re: No start
This actually sound like what happen to me. Recheck the coolant sensor wiring. My sensor was fine but the wires to the sensor were like plastic, probably because of the heat. Redid the connections and fired right over. If you get your logger to work check to see what it reads. when it was disconnected it read like -76 or something. I am still guessing that is the problem especially if you are getting spark and smell fuel. Mine ran rich... smelled heavy fuel inside the car... and once in a while fired...

Re: No start
fuel pressure too high (plugged return hose), leaky injectors or grounded injectors.

Re: No start
Your logger still wont connect to the ECU?

Re: No start
Still won't connect. Anyone have a spare wire I could borrow to make sure mine isn't bad?

Re: No start
I know Steve Hill has one, because I gave him my old one.

Re: No start
check your alarm system. rember last time it would not work right when it was unpluged sence the dumb ass messed it up putting it in

Re: No start
You have a GM Maft right? I would throw the stock mas back in and see if maybe that took a crap...
|
Re: No start
I don't have the stock mas anymore, that got sold about a month ago. I'll spend some time this weekend taking out that shitty alarm system and see if that fixes it.

Re: No start
Fuel injector stuck open? Have you tried putting your foot to the floor when trying to start it? This will shut the injectors off and clear it out if you are too rich.

Re: No start
I figured out what it was, and it's something I should have checked right away. Turns out it was the fuel pressure regulator. I unplugged the vaccuum line, it started, and started pissing out fuel like a firehose. I ordered a new one today.
