Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.
I've got realtime 3d visuals of all 8 parameters of my engine. Actually I just made that up.
I do have a question, what is the firing order of the coil pack? does it just go 1-2-3-4? or like 1 and 3 are together? this would be a 1G thing, not sure if it's different for 2g's, i don't care. |
Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.
1-4 and 2-3 are together.

Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.
yay, I plugged it in and got signals for everything. Holy crap is the aem complicated. I have some reading to do. And my tps is wired backward, I should have expected that, lol.

Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.
Here's some more pics as of friday. This is the new-ish setup for wiring. I bought some new split loom tubing for all this, so it'll be cleaned up more, but I re-routed the ignition wires and stuff to go through the secret passage above the wheel well.
http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSC01468.JPG This is where the stock engine harness came through. Now it's the knock and O2 sensors and the coil pack and transistor plugs. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSC01469.JPG And here's the location of the stuff. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSC01467.JPG And now I have to connect the plug wires, switch the + and - on the tps, make sure I have the right settings for starting it up and it should go. :) yay. |
Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.
Good luck buddy!
You went farther than I thought you would! |
Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.

You better post videos when your finished... Tuck them wires! |
Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.
This has been put off for a couple weeks because of various delays. But I think this friday I'll be working on it, maybe try to start it. But I think I need longer plug wires. And of course, it depends on if fuel doesn't leak etc. If it starts, then I will not worry about tuning or driving it untill I get the boost tubes worked out, I/C mounted and all the little stuff.

Thanks! I'll just keep adding more here, and if you want, feel free to put 'em up there. I will be taking more tomorrow (friday).

Happy birthday to me. Apexi GT core. It's damn huge. I hugisized it for 79 cents. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSC01480.JPG I have to cut the bumper supports quite a bit, and I can't really do that in this warehouse I'm in (I think) so that install might have to wait. then I'm getting some Al. pipes, I'll need a bov, the new manifold (yet to buy) and the exhaust welded up and it should be all done mechanically by then. Oh yeah, do I need a special timing light to check timing since it's wastespark? Or will it just read twice what it really is? |

http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSC01502.JPG Here are the latest pics, I cut away a good section of the bumper to make way for the ginormous intercooler pictured above. I think it'll be ok for the time being, I plan on having it re-inforced later, once the car is running. Next I have to cut the frame rails to match the removed section of the bumper supports. Who needs collision protection anyway, right? This is my AEM file I'm working with right now, the only thing I changed since I've tried starting it last is the rev limiter "load psi fuel cut" setting, which was -14.69PSIg. I thought maybe that was the reason it would crank and stumble, but never start. I'll try it later, if anyone else wants to take a look at it and suggest improvements, please do so, I know Ryan is going to take a crack at it, he's been really helpful with this slow-going process. I am quite the n00b with the AEM, but slowly gaining knowledge. THANKS again! (I had to put it in a zipped folder since you can't attach .cal files. :) ) |
Re: Turning my quest into a dsm.
It's Alive!
Thanks for the hints, and I finally figured out how and where to add fuel with the help of some good friends. No names but his initials are Josh Swanberg (sp?). Thanks man! Ryan, you too. Now I can focus on the details and get 'er ready for tuning. Oh and unfortunately it still sounds like a conquest hehe. (I spose that is actually a good thing). |
