Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
That's nelson's car. He has more money into his 3 3s's than DB and LSE have into their entire shops most likely.
"You can build a fast car two ways, build it right, or throw so much money at it is has no choice to be fast." -Matt at Dynamic Racing True quote. I wish Nelson the best of luck with his car, he has ALOT of $$ into custom 1 off R&D. |
Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
That DD dyno should be able to graph 2400awhp, and steady state 1200awhp. For cars making over 400awhp we have another traction bar to put over the front controll arms and cars making 500+ we add more straps to hold the car back also, this would keep the car from pulling up on the rollers. It would also depend on ramp rate, gear ratio, tire size, but cars pulling up like that are not safe and will throw dyno numbers off.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
I'm surprised they didn't strap it down like they should have. Is that video just a "show-off" video like on exvitermini where the skyline climbs the rollers? And when people buy a DD dyno, doesn't a technician/instructor come included in the crate?

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Just an FYI... This car (nelsons) ran a 9.62 @ 152mph at the 3/S National Gathering yesterday. Very impressive. The 9.62 is a new 3/S record time. With the driver the car weighed 3600+ lbs. The run was also on street tires, but they were drag radials. Crazy stuff.

Re: Have you seen this 3/S swanny?
Car's 3rd pass out, 24psi, hit the rev limiter 500' before the end of the track.
Curt, pass was on bf goodrich KDW's, I don't think they were on DR's, just normal street tires. |
